Default Tire size recommendation?

I'm getting 18x10.5 wheels for the rear and am wondering what tire size to get. I don't want giant ugly side wall, also don't want stretch. I'm looking at 275/35-r18, thanks ahead of time for the help.

275/40-18

If you do the math, you can easily see that 35s are too low.

Low as in..?? As you could probably tell wheels and tires are not my forte, I'm using tyre size calculator so I have no clue whatsoever

You need to keep your tires as close to OE diameter to avoid issues (however small) with inaccurate speedo reading AND keep the F-R stagger difference within 97% Front/100% Rear ratio if you have Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) as the ECU is looking for wheel speeds within that range else it could trigger a VDC fault.

Look at this table of 18" sizes. Last number on each line is diameter in inches

225 45% 18 25.97 Stock Reference Size
245 45% 18 26.68 Stock Reference Size

245 40% 18 25.72
255 35% 18 25.03
255 40% 18 26.03
255 45% 18 27.04
265 35% 18 25.30
265 40% 18 26.35
275 35% 18 25.58 A little low by nearly 1/2"
275 40% 18 26.66
Almost dead on.
285 30% 18 24.73
285 35% 18 25.85
285 40% 18 26.98
295 30% 18 24.97
295 35% 18 26.13
295 40% 18 27.29
305 35% 18 26.41
305 40% 18 27.61

FYI (and from chart), typical 18" upsizing is 245/40-18 (or 255/40) Front and 275/40 (or 285/40) Rear.

EDIT: Should mention this is for street use mostly; if you Track or AX, sizes will vary and generally go wider/lower for acceleration and grip benefit. Speedo doesn't matter much at that point and VDC switched off.

Hmmm okay guess I'll be going with 275/40 in the rear, wheels are 22 offset 18 x 10.5... now for the front HAHA! Definitely Don't have a single clue about the tires for these, front will be 18x 9.

Also note I have base version so 17 inch wheels all around.

For front, re-read above and look at the table to see why I suggested the sizes.
