Default TE37 Question help me out please

Ok I've checked out the gallery and checked out what's for sale and I don't get it. I have a few questions.

1. What widths for 19 inch rims 8.5 & 9.5 or 9.5 & 10.5. I've seen both and it seems that if i were to go 245 front and 275 rear that those tire sizes would fit on either choice, so i might as well go for the 8.5 & 9.5 to save weight right? Or is there some sort of handling advantage to the wider wheels? I'm not all that interested in look (check next question) i'm mainly interested in handling and performance, so the lighter the better, or better handling is better too...but if there is no benefit other than the look lemme know..

2. Offset question. I like the look of a deep dish wheel so it seems like the smaller the offset the bigger the dish look right? The reason I am asking this seemingly simple question is because in the gallery i've seen wheels that are labeled as being 9.5 +22 offset that have a smaller dish look than 9.5 +34...that just seems wrong. So any suggestions as to what looks the best? By that i mean biggest dish look and the wheel come out as much as possible (hopefully without rolling fenders)?

Thanks for your help...sorry for the long questions

your right on the first point, if your gonna get 245/275 go with 8.5/9.5 the tires will appear to fit better, and save a lb or 2 total. biggest thing, itll save a few bucks.

offset, smaller would be a larger lip. not sure if there are spoke/face styles that could be factoring into the lip size, I dont think so though. probably just mislabeled.

so what you're saying is to go with 8.5 & 9.5. What offset should i get if i want the wheel and tire to come out to the edge of the car and for the biggest possible lip, preferably without having to roll fenders?

on the TE/LE Volks, the +22 9.5" will give you a small lip, but the spokes will be concave, which gives the wheel a bigger (and nicer looking) appearance. The +34 9.5" will give you a nice lip, but the spokes will be flat (or straight).

AH HA!!! that explains eveything! (not sarcasm) i couldn't figure out for the longest time why when i looked only at the lip, it was wider on the +34s than the +22s for a while i thought i have my definition of offset confused...concavity!! that really does explain it...i guess i never noticed. While we're on the subject, what do you guys think is better the +22 with smaller lip yet concave looking spokes or the +34s with wider lip? Also which will fill the wheel well better? And one final question...i can't seem to tell the difference between the TE37s and the LE37Ts I was kinda stairing for a while...and nothing...

LE37s have a polished lip... TE37s have the same color lip as the rim

Check this link. I just got TE37s 9.5 rear with +34 offset. See how you like em with lip but no concavity
TE37+34 19x9.5

One more question. For tires, I know that the fronts are smaller in overall diameter than the rear tires, for non-vdc cars, would it matter if the front tire size was the same as the rear? For example, instead of 245 front and 275 rear, are 255 front and 285 rear ok? Too big too wide? I figure it would fill the wheel well better and the speedo will be off by only 1 mph going 60. Any feedback?

Thanks for your help Bryan. I don't currently have a Z yet. But tomorrow I am making a very important phone call to find out the results of my Interview a couple of weeks ago. If the results are positive, I'm going straight to Nissan and getting one, if the results are negative I'm gonna go to my boss from the place i was an intern last year and ask him for a job (he has expressed interest in hiring me already so I am not worried either way) so either way i'll be getting a job, I am just waiting for a concrete decision. I will contact you when I will be ordering these.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but does the offset make any difference between one wheel and the other?

And, is the color of the gunmetal TE different than the LE? Was checking the wheels out here, and they look different:

Offset does make a difference (check here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=37901 ) Visually, offset changes how well a wheel fits in the wheel well and how close the wheel is to the edge of the car. It also determines the size of the lip. It seems that the main difference is that the LEs have a polished lip which is a different color than the rest of the wheel, whereas the TEs are one color.

Default Those are silver rims.

It was a sunny day, and the rims were clean...tires had black magic on...so the contrast makes it look like they're white. If you like the cancave look of the rear rim, you can go with 19X9.5 12mm offset to get more concavity.....good luck!
