Default Tire Aspect Ratio

Hey everyone. So I am picking up some new wheels. The specs are 18x9.5 + 15 in the front and 18x10.5 +25 in the rear. The tires I chose are Continental DWS06. Fronts are 255/40/r18 and rears are 285/35/r18. Since there is a difference in aspect ratio (40 fronts and 35 rears) is this still ok to run? I would like to have gotten 40 in the rear but they did not have 40s in the 285 size. Will I run into any issue? Thank you.

It will only make a functional difference if your car is equipped with VDC. If so, you might trigger VDC with the shorter rear tire.

Comparing the sizes and diameters (in inches):

245/45/18 - 26.68 OE rear size 18" wheel
285/40-18 - 26.98 +0.30 taller than OE (this is OK still has proper delta range F-R)
285/35-18 - 25.85" -0.83" shorter than OE, 3.1% shorter than OE

If the front was also a 35 ratio tire (or the proper 40 aspect rear was used), the height difference F to R would keep VDC happy.

Also, looks wise, the rear tire is going to look a bit awkward with a 0.83" larger gap between the tire and fender lip.

I see. I have an 04 touring so I believe I only have TCS. As long as functionally the car can be fine than that's alright. I am not super worried about the 0.84" gap since its gonna be such a small difference, it might not be super noticeable.

Do they have a 265/35-18 that you could run up front ?

how about a 275/40-18 you could use for a rear ?
