Default Question about tires

So i know nothing about how tiring sizing works, just recently got a Z for my first car. Tires are complete garbage, like no tread left. So Nissan said it'd cost $689 for new tires and a rotation. I know the front and rear tires are different sizes so could I save money buy just buying the same size tires for all 4?
Also anyone have any recommendations for a tires under 450 for a set for just normal light driving?

Might as well get rid of the car now, just because the barrier to entry is low doesn't mean the parts and maintenance follow suit. One of my rear tires is $400 lol

Yes, to enjoy driving a sports car good tyres are a necessity, without them what's the point? If you want to pay $450 for a set just try to stick with a known brand, get some quotes over the phone.

You wanna buy some hunnert dollar tires? Got to EBay, type in your size without the separators.... 225 45 18 and an entire selection of tires will appear. Nothing I'd put on my cars but some are OK if you don't push the car to it's limits, which you will have lowered putting questionable quality tires on it. Seriously, don't expect the same type of performance in dry or wet as $200 tires with hundred dollar tires. They are your only connection to the road. Best to make those connections good ones.

But that said, I had a set of Ling Long Crosswinds on an NA Z32 that weren't horrible. But them, I just commuted 10 miles from my house to the shop with that car.

About $1900 here after install. A lot of people now think that just because you can attain a Z at $5-10k easily that the market will match it. These cars were $30k+ new and prices of their parts haven't gone down, they went up lol.

BFGoodrich G Comp -2 A/S can probably be negotiated at 450$ for a full set at Discount tires. There’s a few other decent brands out there that offers that price point like the Hankook Ventus series.

I use cheap tires for my boosted Z, so sometimes it’s not necessary to get all the high end stuff.

(If anyone’s is curious on what tires I use, Federal 595 RS-RR)

Put your effort into shopping more than considering tire sizes. Don't be afraid of used tires if you buy from a trusted and reputable dealer/source. I have traded in almost new tires because I did not like the characteristics. These same tires were sold to someone who obviously got a GREAT deal (almost new for used pricing).
