Default Question about tire size for wheels

Hello, I have a 2007 350z touring & I recently purchased 18x8.5 wheels with 35mm offset for all four, and was wondering what tire size would suit best? I have stock tires right now but I heard it’ll stretch on 225/45/18 for the front. My rear size is 245/45/18. I am looking at buying Michelin pilot sport 4s. What sizes do you guys recommend that won’t rub? Sorry I’m pretty oblivious when it comes to car stuff. Figured I’d ask knowledgeable people. Everything on my car is stock except my exhaust and cold air intake.

is that due to the wheel size? Because I was thinking of getting 245/40/18 front and 245/45/18 rear

the wheel size, i know you may be constrained by budget but if you could wait and get better wheels with appropriate tires then you wouldnt spend money twice

most people put the following on the 350

front 18x9.5 +23 (or +15) with a 255/40 (or 245/40) tire... depending on if you like a squared up shoulder
rear 18x9.5+15 (or 18x10.5+15) with a 275/40 tire

i had the michelin ps3 on my first corvette, and the ps4 on the current... you will really like them

that’s a good plan, then add 20 mm spacers and it will look ok.

Why that size? It’s fine, but the rear will have a taller sidewall than the front, but be the same width.

Because the 350z has a taller rear tire than front tire.

Stock rear tire: 26.7" (Overall Diameter)
Stock front tire:25.9" (Overall Diameter)

Right, but why not go with a wider tire with the same aspect ratio, like a 275/40?

255 is about the outer limit (259mm actually) for an 8.5 wheel before performance drops off due to rollover (unless you wanna run 50# pressure all day long). Sure, one can physically fit a 275 but there's no reason to for that reason. 9.5" is a better fitment for 275.

I drove on 8.5" wheels with 245/40-18 front and 245/45-18 for a while and liked the neutral handling (i.e., less understeer), When I changed wheels and went to 9.5" on the rear, I went with 245/40-18 front and 275/40-18 rear, The result is more understeer, but probably safer handling. An additional comment: 245/45-18 tires have the same sidewall height as 275/40-18.
