(2) Nitto NT01's 245/45/17's
I have two (2) Nitto NT01's, sized 245/45/17, with about 50% of the tread remaining. I used them for 6 autox's, and one DE.
There is plenty of life left in these tires, as the wear indicators and grooves clearly show.

Those holes are wear indicators. After the central grooves wear down, there is still rubber left. The holes are an indicator mark.
