Default Gas Tank Location in 2005 z?

I am planning on installing a stereo to my performance edition 350z and am wondering where the gas tank is? I am planning on putting the amps in the compartment where the bose subwoofer normally is. I plan on making an amp rack and screwing it down here? Is it safe to drill here? I just don't want to put a hole in anything important.

If you take out the glove box, or look at the bottom of either of the left or right compartments, you'll find the fuel tank. Don't drill there b/c you will put a hole in an area that is critical. Research a few threads here and you'll find how others have installed their subwoofers.

As mentioned don't drill DOWN in that area. However the area has a suspended mounting tab that is very convenient. If you remove the glove box you'll have a template for building your amp rack on the other side.

Ya that's what I was planning. I already designed a pretty cool one imo that will be side mounted. I'll post some pics when I get everything all hooked up.

Also,
To make the amp rack fit I may need to cut off the little brackets sticking down from the top of the compartment (as shown in the top right of 92k1500's first picture). What are they used for? Would it be a problem to get rid of them?

Those brackets are to mount the rear of the glovebox to in the right hand drive cars.

If you look at our car everything is a mirror image. Makes it really easy to swap left to right hand drive.

I got the DQT with the digital remote for a steal from a guy on the car audio forum I'm on.

My buddy had a DQS and they are great but I didn't need all that. I'm only running front stage.

And honestly my EQ is set flat. I like the way it sounds how it is.
