Default megan coilovers

hey guys, i tryed searching this but couldent find anything on it

im trying to figure out if the megan coilovers are any good?? i looked at them and noticed they had the pillow ball mounts and i like that but then i look at the tien basics that are at the same price...but with no pillow ball...

i had the tien SS setup on my last car and i loved them...is the megan coilovers gnna be anything like that??

i mnot worried if they are stiff or anyhting..i actually perfer a stiffer ride

I would give them a solid rating of "so-so".

The 32 levels of damping is pretty comical. And mine have developed clunks and creaks in the two years and ~15k miles I've put on them including a fair amount of autox and track time. But they are definitely a vast improvement over stock from a performance aspect. I can't compare them to any other coilovers because these are the only ones I've had on my car.

FWIW, I will be replacing mine with some mid/high end coilovers soon. I think I've got what I'm going to get out of the Megans. They are a decent buy overall, at the price.

Yeah they are pretty stiff. Its also going to depend which spring rates you go with, IIRC Megan offers 8k/6k and 10k/8k rates. They weren't very loud to begin with, but have got pretty loud over the past 6 months or so.

As far as low, I dont know how they would compare to the gf springs. My car is dropped probably 1 1/2" or so, and it could go lower but I'm not sure how much.

Everyone I personally know who bought megans liked them "OK" but nobody seems to love them.

I would check into Buddy Club and Stance - I believe they would be better bang for the buck coilovers.

Or do what I did, wait for a good deal on slightly used nice coilovers (Bilstein Pss9 in my case).
