Angry Installed Popcharger...car feels slower

Ok guys...Yesterday I got my popcharger on. Sounds great, looks great, easy install, no CEL.... but.... When I drive my car hard now it honestly feels like it takes a tad bit longer to get through each gear. The pull still feels the same, but maybe did it lose a little low end and gain high end, is that why it feels slower?

All I know is that before the popcharger, when I would punch it in 1st gear, the needle would be past 6 grand soooo fast. Now it feels like I'm waiting and waiting for it to redline so I can shift.

Anyone else expierience something like this????

I've heard that the sound makes the car seem slower by comoparison.

But If its an actual measurble change, then take taht sucker off and get a refund!

check for leaks. I had the same thing happening, fixed the lil leaks and no shut offs for over 6 months.

mine turned off on me going 100+ when i put it in neutral from fifth. i wanted to coast to the exit ramp on the highway, the whole just turned off. good thing it started up again, otherwise i would have went straight off the road. I was told this was due to excess air getting into the engine from "leaks", the ecu detects this and shuts off the car.

I installed my JWT PopCharger yesterday, and it feels about the same. Like you said tho, almost feels like it lost a little low end torque.. ?

I have read in previous post on the same subject that shut offs were due to putting the car in neutral at such a high rate of speed and rpm rather than down shifting. Something to do with the engine being under a huge load one second and then no load the next.

i've had mine on for about 2 weeks now and seems like I lost low end torque as well. I may put on my stock filter on again because i've also noticed my idle goes under 500 even close to stalling ever since the popcharger went on.

Jason at Performance had this stall problem when shifted to neutral from high speed. I believe he has a fix for this. I dont exactly remember how he did it. So shoot him a PM or do a search under his name. Good luck. and if I were you, i would pop back the stock air filter before you find youself flying like a rocket into a ditch or off a cliff. A trade off for a better sound with your life is definately not a good deal

Have had my popcharger over a year and never have had a stall with it. With the extra air intake it may lose a little low end torque, but I think you make up for it at higher rpms.

My JWT should be arriving this week sometime. If it stalls even ONCE, y'all will have the opportunity to buy one dirt cheap. I read about the problems AFTER I ordered it.....should have researched it a little more before buying.
How humiliating would it be to race somebody and have it stall out mid-race? "Man, those Z's must be pieces of crap!...."

It could be your mass air flow sensor...

Bring it by to our dealership and we can check it out for you to see exactly what it is and fix it for you.

Damn before I bought this thing I searched on here, and everyone said it was the way to go for no hassel guarenteed small gains....... is there dyno's that prove the popcharger gains a little?? Does it show a loss of low end torque like I feel???

My 1st gear honestly takes a full second longer to get to redline.. Makes traction easier to attain tho
