Default Got mine!

Picked it up on Halloween and finally got a few pix over the weekend. A little underexposed and shot with a diffuser on the lens but you'll get the idea...

The Volk Racing GTC's make an already beautiful car absolutely pop. Running 18x9 in front and 18x10 in back on Nitto 555s (255/40s in front and 285/35's in back). From the back, all you see is massive rubber!

I'm loving the car and don't mind the attention it gets. Had a couple C-4 drivers give me a thumbs up and was videotaped on the freeway. No college girl boobies yet but I haven't even had it a week yet so there's still plenty of time, I hope!

Hope you like the pics.

Silverstone over Burnt Orange, aero, mats, bags, plates, oh and 5AT. Love it!

Default Thanks.

Silverstone is an awesome color. Burnt orange is an eye catcher too. People are very surprised by the contrast but it always gets an "ooohhhh" rather than an "oh".

Rick Teter at Wheel Warehouse in Anaheim set me up with tires and wheels. He asked me not to say *exactly* how much I paid but I will say that I got a very fair deal and decent credit on my take-offs so the all-in cost was under $2500. Trade-in deal probably won't last though. Your mileage may differ.

Enjoy your Z!

I thought I had some hi-res pics too but technical difficulties got in the way. Won't have chance to redo for a couple of weeks.

Super G,

Your car still looks awesome. We need some side shots of the car to fully show them GT-C's. They look way better in person!!!!

I was the guy with the Blue G35 Coupe at Wheel Warehouse. Those GT-C's really enhances the look of the car. I am opting for those rims as well but SuperG got the last set available in Silver. Next shipment is coming in around Nov. 15

Enjoy the ride!

"so the all-in cost was under $2500." SuperG, I appreciate you're keeping your word on not mentioning exact pricing, but I'm not sure I understand your explaination? Do you mean you paid under $2500 after trade in of your stock setup? And if so, without telling what you paid for the new ones, what kind of credit did you get on the old? I'm wondering what I can expect/try for on my own if I should decide to swap out the stock for something a bit wider/different?

Thanks

Thanks man. Your ride is also extremely fine. Nice choice on the color.

I'm so stoked with the car and the wheels I feel like a kid! Sorry it was the last set but yours will be here soon. Go with 285's in the back -- they make the car and the weird thing is, the car rides better on the new 18s than it did on stock 17's. Air pressure was/is correct in both cases so that won't explain it. Go figure. Sticky suckers though -- you have so much confidence going into curves and corners.

Driven -- yeah, I'm keeping a solemn vow. The wheels and tires total (forget about the trade in) were under $3K. The trade-in was more than $500 but like I said, that might not last as more takeoffs become available in the aftermarket. Best advice is to shop around a bit then deal with a place / person you trust to do the right thing.

SuperG,

What offsets did you do on both front and rear rims? Also, can't you fit a 295 on a 10" rim without going beyond recommendation? If so, why the 285 if you like Phat rubber like I do? Just wondering as I evaluate my options. Was that the fattest that would safely fit?

Thanks

Default Hey Driven...

Not positive but I want to say the offsets were 30-something in front and 40-something in back. I guess I could have gone with 295's but followed Rick Teter's recommendation (Wheel Warehouse in Anaheim).

The 285's look and perform awesome. Tenacious as hell (although I did manage to break them loose on the way to work this morning during an especially spirited commute!).

I believe I have heard that 295's will ride on 10's with no problem and there probably is enough clearance in the wheel well but check with a pro to be sure.

Good luck!
