Talking Hatch popping

Ok, this probably sounds like a dumb question but since I have not seen too many people do this, here it is.

The other day I saw someone go to pop their Z's hatch with the key fob and the hatch opened all the way up (not just like...popping a little). This was a coupe and I have a roadster but anyway...do all of your Z's trunks/hatches open all the way when you push the button or was this a custom thing they had? Mine only pops up about 1 inch...I have to lift it the rest of the way.

they probably have a stronger hatch support valve installed...like the one that nismo makes to compensate for the weight of the spoiler

Does the ZR trunk lid have gas struts? Most trunks don't, they're just counter-balanced to stay up by themselves....

Why the heck is there NO rear hatch release button INSIDE the car?? I have a '05 Base Model. Everytime I wanna pop the rear hatch, the ignition has to be off, and then I have to hit the key fob?? Is it me or does this seem odd??

You don't have to shut off the ignition. Just have someone press the rubber button above the license plate since you/someone's gonna be back there anyways.

Yes...it does. I wanna put stronger ones in and mount an lcd TV to the inside of the trunk.

Hehe. Me too. I brought it in to my dealer and they've ordered parts for me. I just need to bring the car back to have them fix it. Tell them about the TSB and they'll take care of it.

My latch just pops up an inch or so. Maybe after the dealer fixes it, it'll go all the way up? That would be nice.

I think I read somewhere that there's a hatch release on the rear strut brace on the bottom.

Its for when your battery is dead...It's just a piece of thin cable(almost string) attatched to a plastic finger pull under a panel.
