Angry I seem to have no luck lately.

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the board, and also new to the Z community. I bought the Z used, in late Novemebr of '04 and was involved in an accident in late december, actually the week of Christmas. Anyway, the damage being moderate to the passenger door and rear qurter panel. The car has been at the collision center since Dec. 22 and I was supposed to get it back yesterday, the 11th. Here is the problem the shop is having with the car.

They needed to replace the door (only the shell, using the original guts and so on). They call me today (I was hoping it was ready) and they stated that when they shut the door on the car, instead of the window going up to seal, it automatically rolls all the way down when it is closed... everytime.

Has anyone heard of this, or have an idea on a fix for this. As of now, Nissan is clueless, the car is being hauled to the Nissan dealer tommorow so they can try to fix it. Now they have no idea when it will be done! Any thoughts, comments, wise cracks

Have them try reseting the memory on the window motor. They get a little screwy when you set them if you do it wrong. Sometimes they drop half way when you open the door. Reseting has fixed that on the ones I've worked with that had that problem. Maybe it's the same issue.

I have not looked at a wiring diagram in awhile for the BCM. I believe it controls some of the light functions and possibly some of the windows. It does not control all the window functions though. I hate trying to read those stupid diagrams!

Update, Nissan got it fixed, without a problem. Got the car back yesterday (a week late!) and when I got it home, after driving it around for the most part of the afternoon (I missed her) I noticed on the same problematic window, that I can stick my finger between the edge of the window and the "B" post and get inside the car from the outside. Just more BS to deal with. It's going back on Monday and I am going to sit there while they fix it! Otherwise, it's nice to have her back!

NismoChic,

Where in Miami do you live? It says Old Cutler/Miami. I used to live in Cutler Ridge, my dad lives in Homestead. (I don't see that area "cutler anything" that much anymore. As for the car, things are going slow, but working in the right direction.
