I think the Z is a blast to drive espically when driving on an autocross road course. Bobbing and weaving in and out of cones while being timed, trying to set the best time against others. Like alot of peeps have said, the Z is a good track car and I'm also a firm believer in that. Whomever is claiming that they are bored try getting into some type of road course event like drag racing, autocross or circuit racing on race tracks and I bet you'll appreciate your Z alot more while having fun.

A lot of you are misinterpreting what I am trying to say. The Z is a very fun car to drive and I love it. It's one of the most beautiful cars on the road I think. No, I am not bored with it. I just dont get excited thinking about it. It doesn't raise by heart rate when I drive it. It just seems that a lot of you are a lot more enthusiastic about it than I am.

Mantis I understand what you are feeling. In 2001 I got a BMW 330i. I found the car was okay but not as great as everyone said was. I was sorry I leased it with the same day I drove it home. Now almost 3 1/2 years later I replaced it with a 350Z Roadster and now I look for reason the drive! I just love the car.

So while some poeple may find one car is the GREATEST others may not agree. It all depends on what that person wants.

Hey Mantis did you have a chance to test drive a 350z roadster?

Only thing that could put a bigger smile on my face is either a new NSX or Ferreri....

Nah, Im not into verts anymore. Tried and done. I was never a big fan of roadsters (boxster, z3/4, miatas, s2000s) but I have to say the Z roadster is the better looking and meaner of the bunch but its not my cup of tea.

Another point to think about: did you "settle" for the Z? That's kinda where I'm coming from. I've always wanted a Corvette. When I got my Z (2003), I had looked at used C5's, but I really wanted a new car. $45K was still a little out of my price range. I think Jay Leno was right when he said the Z is so competant to the point where it's almost boring. Don't get me wrong, it's a great little sports car, but it doesn't have the "hard on" factor of a Vette, NSX, or even 300ZX TT.

Damn. Oh well, at least I'm glad I didn't get an RX-8.

I had an RX-7....The RX-8 is a joke in comparison IMO.....I hate the bulge over the front wheel wells....very unsightly...and ONLY 238 HP??? Puh-leeezz!! Gimme a used RX-7
Turbo II - Vintage 1990 or 1991....The newer RX-7's 1993, 1994, etc weren't that reliable, if I recall correctly.

Maybe someone is getting mature to the point that cars dont excite them anymore..... try a G coupe
I might not be as crazy over my car like I was over my hondas (back in the day) but I do love my new Z

I guess it might be because I never anticipated getting it. I just got up one day and decided to get one. Don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, great can and everything, but I'm just not feeling it. I was just wondering if any of you guys were excited when you first got it, or does the appreciation develop over time.
Nope, I felt the same way...then I changed the whole car.Now I like it

At 29 this is by far the most impressive vehicle I have (1) ever driven and (2) ever owned. It took me a good 2 months to get the feel for the car but lately I've been grinning for no reason while driving. If you spent $30k on car and that doesn't happen....you either need to get a truck or SUV....or you need to get a different car.
30K is about an avg price for a new car nowadays.
