I dont think it would, actually, I may have it backwards, but I think you can get away with lower octane, but I wouldnt recomend it if your not pressed for cash.

see at your altitude your air pressure is ALOT lower, last time I was in denver I thought the barometer was around 24, while its around 31 at sea level. so that means less oxegen in the same space, and a less explosive detonation. to fix this you can try forced induction.... no matter what your car will lack a good bit vs a car at sea level. when I say good bit I mean 20-30hp....

so short of modifying the intake or adding a turbo, there isnt much that could help the performance in high altitude?

Talking torque

The max torque is at 4800 RPM. I cant wait until the break in period is over. Keeping it under 4000 RPM now.

nope, no fix for it. plain and simple, engine burns oxegen and gasoline. gasoline isnt the problem, theres plenty of that, you could use race fuel, but thats not the point. EVERY mod the increases engine output has to do with getting more oxegen into the engine(and out). end of story. if you have less oxegen in the same space, your at a disadvantage.

if you raise the pressure of the oxegen, it will counter it. this can be done by FI or by drawing more colder air from a CAI.

When my brother drives my Z and I'm riding along, it feels REALLY fast, mainly because your not in control, don't know what going to happen next, and are basically just enjoying the ride.

When I'm driving it, I know when I'm going to shift, how far down to hit the pedal, etc.. so nothing comes as a surprise. I'm expecting it to be fast, which can be anticlimatic without a sudden power surge.

Well put! I was going to say the same thing. Being in the driver's seat and being in the passenger's seat are two different feelings. When i'm driving, i do not even notice the "back pinned to the seat" feeling. I haven't let anyone else drive my Z yet, but when i'm a passenger in other cars, and the driver steps on it, there is the definite feeling of being "pinned".

A long time ago, I read a review on the viper (1996?). Anyway, the journalist was the passenger, and the driver taped a $100 dollar bill to the dash. He told the journalist, "when in full acceleration, i bet you can't lean forward and grab that bill. If you can, it's yours". After the drive, the bill was still taped to the dash.
