Default Valve Ticking

Hey all,
I noticed the other day when I was standing next to my car that one of my valves was ticking quite noticeably. Some other guys heard it as well. I've been paying attention to it over the last few days, and I've noticed that sometimes it ticks, sometimes it doesn't. Has this happened to anyone else? The car only has 5500 miles on it and had it's last oil change at around 1100 miles, when I switched to mobil-1. I dread taking my car to the dealer because with my body kit, they can't get my car on their lifts. Hope I don't qualify for an engine swap or valve work....

Whats up Kelly,
I'm not sure what the noise is but I recently had my car at the dealer for a ticking sound from the rear axle. I took my trusty 2x4's with me so they could get the lift under my car. Just drive your car up onto the 2x4's and that should give you just enough clearance to swing the lift arms under it.

Make sure your present when they do this so you can keep an eye on things.

Good luck,
Jason

Thanks Jason. What dealer was this? The guys at Brown's Sterling didn't seem too interested in being creative about getting my car up on the lift. They just said "Oh we can't work on your car" When they did my rear axle TSB, they just lifted the car with a hydraulic jack on the diff.

About that ticking sound...... I honestly think it's a Nissan thing. Just about ever Nissan I ever Rode in and My Z have the Valve ticking, it's like their signature to let you know that it's a Nissan. LOL.....I'm serious. Just listen closely when your close to any nissan.

It was Pallone Nissan in Springfield, they're a great bunch of guys over there. Maybe its time to supercharge it, the whistle will cover the ticking. Now that I think about it mine had a slight ticking also, like scrbz6913 said, it might just be "a Nissan thing".

Wow...Springfield = long drive . I definitely have plans for F/I this summer. Too much show and not enough go right now. Gotta do something about that! Thanks again for the info!
