Whats the highest markup you've seen??
While getting service done on my 240, i took a stroll through the riverside nissan showroom, and noticed they had a 350track stickered for $45,700!!! $8000 markup!!! Then after asking the salesman to take a look under the hood, I was told if I didnt hvae 45k on me, i couldnt look under the hood...what a jerk...anyway, i think thats the highest markup i've seen so far on a z, anyone else seen a higher markup??

A 10k markup on a Touring CS at bayridge nissan. Apparently they didn't think I was serious about buying the car so they were jerking me around. They call me back 2 weeks later and ask me if i want a Z and that they're so "hard to find" and that they only have them, I told them I bought one the next day at MSRP from Difeo Nissan without any bs, then they go, u can't get that, why are you hurting yourself? I told them, so why would I lie to you if I still wanted one? They were thinking markup till the very end.

10K at Passport Nissan of Alexandria for a MT DB Touring. I know the salesman and he told me he knows they can't demand that price now (heading into winter), but in spring...now that's a different story.

Matix,
You should be able to get MSRP at Long Beach Nissan (where I got my Touring) or Huntington Beach Nissan.
Stick to your guns, I brought LB Nissan down from $5K over to MSPR.
Since you're looking for a track model, it may be a little harder to get MSRP at SoCal as there are very few around right now.
I don't want to get flamed, but price is regional. Just because you can get a Track under MSRP somehere else in the US doesn't mean you can get the same deal in SoCal.
Good Luck

45k in Rockville Maryland
I told the salesperson that they were high if they really thought they were going to 45K (I think it was a touring MSRP at 34k).
But, I'm sure some rich dude ended up over-paying for it.
Markz
-waiting for the drop-top.

More Ridiculas than Markup...
This should do one better....
I went to a dealership near my workplace after checking out the inventory list on Nissan's website. The dealership had a black touring model for sale - never seen one in black then.
When I got there I realize that particular Z was to be sold as a USED car - some loaded guy got sick of it and decided to trade it in for a MB500SL. Right there and then I was thinking to myself that I wouldn't mind paying MSRP or better still below that, grin grin....
Got a shocker when I was told that there was a $3000 markup for that used 350Z! WTF, I mean that car had at least 500 miles on it, and its seats been molested by someone's a$$. GAVE the sales person a "YOU GOT TO B KIDDING" look and left.....

Northern CA dealers want 5-10K over MSRP
And most of these dealers who want 5-10K over MSRP have about 5-8 of them sitting around doing nothing. When you ask about the markup they claim they are hard to find and everyone wants one...
I then look around and say..OH...was there a line here??? Did I cut in front of it or what?
There isn't a damn person in the showroom cept for a bunch of BS salesmen. Keep the car at anything over MSRP.

Re: Northern CA dealers want 5-10K over MSRP
a few weeks back, Steven Creeks Nissan wanted 10k over MSRP and 5k deposit for a spot for one of the car they will be getting in. Couple of other places around the bay area wanted ONLY 4-5K over MSRP and 5k deposit.
