Only if you perceive a threat of deadly force by the attacker. If it turns out he had no deadly force to bring to bear (like a gun), then you could land in jail for using deadly force. In Florida the law was recently changed to give defenders greater leeway to defend themselves, but there is still a requirement to be under threat of deadly force. The new law states that the defender "has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm." This is very similar to other states and current case law. Just because someone yells at you doesnt qualify as deadly force.

Sticks and stones....

I mean if you're gonna shoot the guy if he's coming at you with nothing, I'm sure just the sight of the gun will cool him off, so shooting and taking his life is not necessary

It probably will, or it may cause him to lunge at you and try to wrestle the gun away from you. In either case, the ending cant be good, as showing off a weapon like that is an offense all of its own. When you pull out your weapon, make sure you REALLY need it....

Hey, I pack a Glock .40 caliber, and also have a Romanian AK-47 semi and a Mossberg 12-gauge. I am a "compassionate conservative". However, pulling a gun in a situation like that without the ability to use it is just dumb - you are just asking for trouble. If I pull out my gun, it is most likely I am going to fire it - brandishing a weapon without cause is a state offense here in Florida, not to mention an overall bad idea. If I pull out my gun it is because I am perceiving a deadly threat and intend to use deadly force to defend myself. Harsh words and threatening language dont qualify, particularly in a court of law. And the prospect of being someones plaything in prision for doing a dumb thing with a gun is just not on my list of things to do any time soon...

I was in the car with my dad years ago, and he has the worst temper.. and a bad european temper + being ex- european judo champ = scary combo... but anyway, some skinhead in a lil jeep was going slow in the left lane, so my dad goes in the middle lane and floors it past him... so the guy flips my dad off and yells **** u.... well that didnt go over to well... my dad cuts infront of him.. the guy goes to the right lane, the guy takes a right and goes into the parking acting like he wanted to fight.. my dad follows runs out of the car, and the guy is still in the car and yells "wtf you gonna do *****?!" then tries to throw a punch while sitting.. my dad grabs his arm, twist it, grabs all 4 fingers breaks each one by benind all of em back at once... then knocks em in the jaw and boom the guys knocked out in his car... lmao.. and the funny part was he got in trouble cause a security guard saw it all, and said it was the other guys fault.... iam glad my dad doesnt carry a hand gun... he would kill someone probably with that temper... scary...

Yeah Mace and tazers are illegal here. The only thing i could see would be bear repellent which is a kind of pepper spray. I'm a drummer, so drumsticks could be an idea, considering how much they hurt when you get hit by those. A hammer would be good too, I think a mag light would be great. It's just storage is somewhat limited to conceal a weapon.

But i think some kinda spray is the best bet, hell even air freshener spray could sting his eyes alright and still leave my car smelling great and feeling fresh!

You are on the right trak, you know what works real good is a spray can of automotive body under coating.. that stuff is nasty and is under a lot of preasure and it comes out in gobbs, i had to use it once.. the dude got out of his car to kick my butt (that what he said) when he got close I rolled down my window and let him have it on the face, he was totally helpless i just drove away..I`am sure he was ok later...

I carry pepper spray in my left cubby on the door. I get ready to grab it and roll the window down if someone is about to do something.

I've also been in karate for 3 years, i'm not saying I'm good or anything, but it does help.

Pepper Spray is legal in texas.

I took kung fu years ago, probably would still manage, but still fighting is not something I'm seeking. Some spray would be best.

Hmmm looking at things, the best would be bear repellent, or attack dog repellent, i think it's legal in Canada for that matter, not sure how much it would hurt someone but odds are it would be enough.

I never understood why people get mad when they get passed like illustrated above, but it happens for some weird reason....
