I just had to rant. Went to Jiffy Lube to get my oil changed yesterday and the guys in the pit noticed that there was something unusual about the underside of my Z. They said that it looks like I'm missing every single bolt on the underside of my front bumper cover and that even the bolts holding the inside of the wheel well covers are missing. After doing the oil change, they were kind enough to jack up the car so I can get a closer look. When I looked underneath, sure enough it looks like they unbolted and took the OEM front chin spoiler. It appears that their original goal was to make off with my Kaminari lip spoiler because all the clips are gone and some of the screws are loose. It looks like they couldn't tell which bolts were actually holding it on and they didn't know that the spoiler was also held on with body tape. In their attempt to figure out which bolts held on the lip spoiler they unscrewed the bolts that held the inside wheel well covers. The covers got shredded by my tires and by dragging on the road. This probably happened in the last week.

If I ever find out who did this, I'll be sure get even and then some.

Anyone know how much it will cost to repair this?

Bummer. I would guess that you're parking the Z outdoors and either don't have an alarm or the thing doesn't have a vibration detector. Most people have had to take them off as the idiots with the car stereos have gotten so loud that they now set them off driving by.

If you've got a view of the car from a window and a camcorder I'd set it up. The punks will be back to finish the job.

I went to the cementary today and some punk a$$ stole my RAYS valve steam caps from my car... he took 3 and left 1 on my car.

Nope, I don't live in the hood. I actually live in a Silicon Valley suburb but I do have some connections to the hood from back in the day, something that a few of the neighbors don't want to seem to forget or let go.

I actually park in my driveway and it's difficult to get away with anything in my neighborhood without someone noticing it or gossiping about it. I have a feeling that it happened in the parking garage at work or at the shopping mall. Last week there were a couple of thefts at my office building. It's just a weird, why would someone want to steal a spoiler when others had wallets and electronic devices stolen?

 

^yeah, that's pretty wierd...so you think you were targeted by some ppl you know from the past?...odd that some jacka***s would want to steal something like your chin spoilers since i doubt there is a big market for those things

 

It may have happened at the shopping mall. There are quite a few high school wannabe ricers that hang out there. They're so cheezy that the real ricers don't let them hang out with them. I remember reading a thread on these forums about someone's rims that got stolen, the thief put them up on e-bay like an idiot, subsequently the owner got his rims back. Check e-bay for your item, you never know...

 

Should be cheap to get replacement bolts.

So, if I read your posting correctly, the punks did not get away with the Kaminari lip right? If so, be on the look out, they may be back for a second try (at your driveway or your workplace).
