Default 350Z Navigation When Moving...

I have an '03 350Z Touring with the Navigation but I can't use the controls when I'm moving. Is there any way to disable the unit so I can operate it while driving. It's pretty much useless unless I'm at a a dead stop. Please let me know. Thanks.

i am sure there's a way. my father's pioneer aftermarket nav system was installed w/o the "must be stopped for operation". for my oem nissan nav, i am just living w/ the safety feature.

its a safety feature so you can't program while driving so you can concentrate on the road...I personally like it and wouldn't want people to be programming and finding numbers and letters with a tiny joystick while moving on the street that I'm driving on. But if you really want it, I'm sure there's a way...haven't heard of it yet tho.

+1.....I think you woul be a danger to others on the road if you were attempting to program an address or a destination while moving......everything else you should be able to access.

What is the difference in messing around with the Nav, changing radion stations/CD, dialing phone number etc?? I hate all of these "legal" notices that now come up on Nav screens or that lock you out from using it, when you have forked over $$$ for it. I understand that driving is your #1 priority when behind the wheel, but locking you out is ridiculous.

no matter how much i also would like to have access to it you gotta admit that putting an address in is nothing like tuning the radio...its just too distracting

that being said...how do we get around it?!...i started a thread like this over a year ago and i dont think it resulted in an answer

What if you had a passenger to enter an adress while you were moving??? I know it sucks to have to stop to enter an adress.
