Default Anyone Else have a Warped, Screwed up, Not aligning, Freakin Gas Lid

I tried bending it a little, but before i do anything really stupid, i wanted to make sure i wasn't the only one.

My gas lid is not aligned, i've had the car for 2 and half years and now it's starting to look like this.

If you guys have had this, what have you done? just bend the crap out of it?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You don't bend the lid. You bend the inside support that holds the lid closed. When I got my car in '02 it wasn't aligned so I bent it back into alignment, but noticed recently it needs bending again.

i'm assuming this is the way to solve it, $hit, y didn't i think of it. anyways i'm guessing you want to bend the support that holds the lid farther away so it pulls on the lid more. Correct?

thanks again, can you take pics to confirm stuff for us all?

Mine is becoming a bit out of alignment also... I bent the joint to get it back to normal, but I guess I didn't do it hard enough. But then again I don't want to break anything either. Guess I'll try again when it bugs me enough...

Yea, my gas lid is a little out of place, but you can hardly tell so it never bothered me enough for me to bend it.

i thought mine was out of alignment, but then i noticed when i closed it, the wire that holds the gas cap was getting in the way. check that out 1st, if you haven't already.

my 03 was not allgined.. basically what i mean is that the lid wasn't flush with the contour of the body.... it was kinda more inward on one side than the other.. Pretty annoying and the dealership "tried" to fix it but it was pretty much the same... So I just lived with it.. its not a huge deal.

Out of whack here too, what do you bend the support with? just your hands or tools or what?
