I just bought an 05 G35 with sport, spoiler, xm, auto. It came to 36k drive out. I was looking at both the G and the Z and in the end decided to go G.
Reason being is because I like having a back seat just in case i had to carry that 3rd or 4th person. It's not often that that's the case, but it's nice to have that option.
Even with the sport suspension and the factory 19s, the ride is just a bit more plush and supple than the Z.
If I was going to buy the Z, I would have went with the Touring model since I was looking for leather, heated seats, and I would have optioned for the side air bags. All totaled, it would have come close to 35k.
So I figured if I could have a back seat, just a bit more comfortable ride, and standard side airbags, why not go G.
So like how everyone is saying, it's really up to you and how you intend the car to be used. Either way, I can honestly say you can't go wrong with either.
