Default Passenger Air Bag Kill Switch

I have read a number of posts about this as an aftermarket install but they are all about 04 & earlier models. Has this problem gotten any better in the 05 model? My 7 & 10 year old boys are my best friends and I will not be able to buy my dream car unless they can travel with me. Any solutions?

Unless you plan on putting one of them in the hatch, they will not both be able to travel with you at the same time anyway. Might want to get a g35 so they can both go at the same time. Im sure there would be some jealousy there if you had to pick which one got to ride with you!

on my g35

if the passenger doesnt weigh over 100 pounds the air bags on that side will not deploy.

It has a sensor in the seat so if theres not over a 100 pounds on that seat the air bag is turned off, and it says that right in the screen next to the clock.

Not sure how different the 05 models are. I know that they advertised that you can get it as addative part for the 03/04 models in the brochere.

Yeah..thats one of the drawbacks of me not purchasing one.

Toyota....come on...supra 06....do it...do it....<$30k ..do it!

I hope a Nissan Engineer is reading this.

Default Air Bag on off Swith

Go to www.airbagonoff.com I bought this product for my 04 Roadster. I would assume it's the same for the 05/06. You could call them after you visit their website, they would know about the 05Z. I paid about $170 for the part shipped to my house. They also have installers, but that cost an additional $200.00 - That comes to about $400 per hour. I have not tested the switch to see if it really works. I think I would need to hit something going over 35 miles per hour. - Hopefully I will never find out.

The install was not that bad. There are stickys on this site for how to remove the dash board on the passagers side. ( the air bag control is located by the passanges door inside the dash. The running of speaker wires to the doors and replacing the rear speakers was alot harder.

The swith comes with a key to lock and unlock the bag. There is a light that comes on when the bag is locked.

I'll second this. airbagonoff.com is located near enough to my house that I just paid for them to do the install. The airbag system will be the same in the '05's, so don't worry about that.

I would NOT recommend that you do this yourself unless you are comfortable around cars. The reason the install costs what it costs is because about half of the fee goes towards insurance for the installer. People are injured/killed ever year in accidental airbag deployments. These things are nothing to take lightly.

They can put the switch wherever you want it, and it's worth every penny to be able to cruise with your kiddos.

Here's a few pics of my install....
