I just wanted to know if any of you 6sp. 350z owners have any tips to drive stick. I dont know how it will feel on the road. and how would i start when racing someone etc. Any helpful advice would be great. Thanx.

 

if you can't/haven't driven a stick before - forgetting about racing anyone for a while...

i've found the best to learn/teach someone stick is by practicing on an incline (slightly sloping hill, parking garage deck, etc). face the car uphill with the with the clutch in and the car in first gear, *slowly* let the clutch out untill the car catches the gear, it will stop rolling backwards - you found the point where you can apply the gas.

ya i'm goin along with him pratice in a different car performance cars are usually harder to learn on too. but i would say that going into first just normal driving try to use the lowest rmp possible in order to get going and let off the clutch as fast as u can but stil keep it smooth after first its all just clutch shift unclutch and also don't ride the clutch either if u r coasting or at a red light just put it in nutral and when not shifting don't rest ur foot on the clutch.. my friend has a 96 mustang gt 5spd and he is the worst driver ive ever seen when he backs up he revs it up to at lest 4 grand and wow hes had it for about a year and has gone through 2 clutches already.. but ya just take it easy practice and you will get better

Yo i will admit i am just a kid,16 and do have my juinor lisencse to all u people who are not thinking i have it but if u have the time to write that big of a response,zand02max, you have no life i was jut trying to see if i wanted the Z but now i dont becasue theres much faster cars such as the Sti, EVO 8, 05 BMW M5, VR4, and many others. But really if u have a Z and spend all day writing gay reports that try to make other people feel bad. Well anyway **** it im done with the Z. Just becasue of u zand02max
