I'd hope so, that could mean some nice upgrades for the 03-05 owners!

I'm guessing that new black is like the 'Flint Mica' they use on the new Lexus and the scion Tc's??

2 stage pearl. Can't really see the pearl effect on the small paint sample. I'll check it out in the sunlight tomorrow when I get to work.

Don't be sorry ... I bet you got a good deal on your 2005. The 2006's are going to be selling for MSRP+ all over again.

Ummm I dunno, I just know that Flint Mica is a dark charcoal type color that has some flakes in it. I've seen it in person a few times and it's a nice color but don't think it really belongs on a Z though. On the right car it looks cool. Then again I've seen Z's in all the colors and they all look pretty good anyway.

I wonder if they are going to price sticker shock me to death and put even a '06 base model out of my $$$ range.

Wish I had the cash to buy an '05 now but I don't. Let's just hope they don't take me to the cleaners in Feburary on a '06.

Now I don't know if this is for ALL of the US, because I know that Cali always gets Nissan's new stuff first (just look at the Stillen Days pictures)....but at least on the east coast this is the info I have.

1. My car is going to be pre-ordered on August/9th/2005 supposedly the earliest date that my dealer can order, and supposedly pricing will be available by this date.
2. My car is supposed to arrive 90 days later, so somewhere in November. Maybe if you didn't pre-order you could just pick up what ever color combo your local dealer gets some time before November, probably September (just a wild @$$ guess)
3. Pricing should go up only 1% of the current cost (so somewhere around %300 to $500)

You can still get a good deal on the 2006. In Rochester NY (the middle of no where), I've been quoted a price somewhere around $200 to $300 under invoice since pricing is not yet available. The exact forumula will be Invoice Price - Factory holdback + $750 = Sale price. I've already put down a deposit to "seal the deal".

Yes, many people bashed on the 2006 when the pictures came out from Stillen Day. Yes I do have some issues with the exterior "upgrades", but the engine upgrade for roughly 1% cost increase is pretty d@mn good in my book. I mean you could spend $300 to $500 dollars on bolt ons and still not make the 13HP increase. Plus I'm getting a Roadster which previously didn't have a 300HP engine option.

Yes, I can't sleep at night dreaming of my car and the day it arrives. Thanks guys for the update on the color, I ordered Magnetic Black...I really hope the color rocks.

1% increase is very acceptable. I was kicking myself not getting the Track Edition when I bought the 03 Performance.. Now I got a chance to make it right

Probably not going to jump on pre-order, but wait and see what colors are available.. Wonder what the new silver is like..

One key point...all this information is for the Canadian market, which has always been different from the US market. The Z's sold in Canada have always had more content in them, less options, and a higher price tag. I think it is Nissan's way of dealing with a smaller market....only make available the top end car - also the most expensive one. For example, all Z's in Canada have always come with 18 inch wheels - a 17 was never available. Also all Z's, except the Track, came with leather...

did not bash the 06, love the 300 HP engine upgrade, now I can get a better value for a new Z, without having to pay track edition prices and still get the six speed.

Well, the color information is also correct for the US.

Here is a quote from another thread:
Color
• 3 New Colors
• Silver Alloy (K23) replaces Chrome Silver (KY0)
• Magnetic Black (G41) replaces Super Black (KH3)
• Interlagos Fire (L40) replaces Ultra Yellow (E33)
Now, has anybody seen these "S-Tune 350Z" and "R-Tune 350Z"? If I could buy a 350Z with everything on it from the factory, I'd be all over that.

Will the 06 z incorporate the modified (read: fixed) front suspension that caused tire feathering on most 03/04 model?
It will be interesting to know, but i dont think Nissan will say: "Hey, we fixed the tire feathering problem that plagues the 03/04/05 in the 06"..They dont even admit this featheirng issue exist on the 04s and 05s.

No front end changes aside from the steering. Someone had posted awhile back saying he believed the feathering was due to the crappy directional Bridgestones. And that other manufactures using this rubber have had simular issues. He also said that once he put non directional rubber on the car, that he had no more feathering issues. I think everyone with the feathering issue should be aware of this.

I dont believe all this 06' change stuff for one second, nissan has always had minimal changes to existing models still into their 3-4th yrs. Not only that but the above comments about the canadian market being very different is true.

I must disagree. Back in 2001 I got the 20th Anniversary Maxima. The next year the d@mn car came with a 6 speed (mine had a 5 speed), HID headlights and a bump in HP from 227 to 260. So I can easily see these 2006 changes in the 350Z.

Then again, we'll all find out in a matter of weeks.

Default 06' Mrsp+ ?

Blue,

Great info -

You sound like you work at the dealership... be honest with me and tell me what of % off MRSP I can expect for 06' - if any. I've been eyeing the 35th a while now, but since the release of the 06' pics on this forum I've decided to wait. Just recently I was at the dealership and they wanted to offer $1,500 off the $48,000 MRSP for an 05' 35th.

Can you shed some light on this from a CA dealership perspective?

Thx much
