You should be able to double that discount, if you find a dealer willing to do it. What city are in?

Chances are, there will still be '05 units availble in February. They still had 04's in April of this year -- granted, not many, but they were available ... and they were selling them off below invoice. I'm thinking of either picking up an '05 now at just below invoice or waiting for the '06's. It's like a 3400+ difference if they sell the 06's for just MSRP (more if they go MSRP+). I'm not sure I can justify an extra 3-4k for some new lights, etc. Of course, I could wait until next year to buy an '06 for Invoice.

bi xenon is cool but how often do you need to turn on your high beams? I think in all my years driving i never "had" to use high beams once. The new colors are definitely cool. Airstreams sounds like it could be a cool gray blue metallic color and the plum color could be a nice purplish color. 300hp on all models is nice, but is this a revised 300hp VQ motor or is it the 300hp motor from the track version with higher redline?

Canadian situation; Regular Z, all gone. 35th, almost gone. GT Roadster, still available.

Even if you purchase at full list, these changes are more than worth it. However, the interest rate right now will save about $1000 per year. Happy shopping.

Full List is an increase of about $3400, plus $1000 per year over 4-5 years in interest ... we're talking about a 7-8k differential ... hard for me to justify for the pretty lights and a slightly larger engine. But, I dont plan on tracking my ZR. Also, little negotiations with the ZR in my Market. Every now and then, they offer a 'Great Deal' of $1000 over invoice. The Market next door asks $1500 over MSRP. This is on the 2005's ... I can only imagine what the hype with the 2006's with bring.

I was all set to buy a 2005 enthusiast this week. But I found out from a friend (a coworker whose husband works for nissan) that I can get employee pricing on a 2006.

As much as I want the Z now I guess I can wait.

Anybody know what employee pricing is like on a Z?

Why not leave your general area to buy one? Not every market is like that. I got my ZR for a decent amount under sticker here in Charlotte and quite a few more ZRs on the various lots in the area.

I did notice that Richmond, VA is apparently a good "markup" community while I was researching...I had to go up there on business and a Nissan dealer (Pence Nissan?) happened to be within eyeshot of my hotel. I wandered up to their lot to find they have $1500 markup over MSRP on every one on the lot...insane!

don't worry about the standard 18" guys! When they come out there, we can all get 'em as easily as we get the current 18"s on the forum...right? hahaha As long as people aren't asking $1500 for them *snicker*

Just recently I was at the dealership and they wanted to offer $1,500 off the $48,000 MRSP for an 05' 35th.

Can you shed some light on this from a CA dealership perspective?

Thx much

jdg345,

Where are you getting the number $3400? Maybe in Canda on a roadster that sells for $53000, but your generally not going to get a discount like that in CND dollars much less US. I never meant big discount plus interest savings, which is why I said "however". What I meant was this; negotiated price vs. negotiated price, the '06 will be a better buy.

Yeah, the high beam is not all that special, but the full projector low beams should be better than what's currently available in the Zs.

That's exactly what I did, I started shopping ... a local dealer matched the price for me and I got it for a few dollars UNDER invoice. But, it's a 2005.

Understood; MSRP is like 39400 for a ZR, for example. Invoice on the same car is 35800. If you can get it for invoice, that's the discount I'm talking about. These are USD of course. When the 2006's are available, they'll be selling them for MSRP+ ... so there's where the $3k comes from. Add on to the fact that there is great financing on the 2005's now and the savings adds up quickly. I hate paying MSRP in general, much less MSRP+ on something that is going to depreciate 20% as soon as I turn the key. I figure I'll save the money on the 2005 and can 'upgrade' in '08 or '09 when they release something totally new.

We do a canyon run at night here that I wouldn't try at speed without good high beams. The elevation changes can leave you blind without them. Not to mention flashing the sharp blind corners as you aproach so people coming the other direction know that your there. The also help with low lying fog that comes of the river.

Yeah dude, get the '05. That's a HUGE discount! Over here our cost is invoice, plus freight $1294, plus air tax $100, plus gas tax $75.
