Default Crappy moldings

It has come to my attention that Nissan uses shi*tty rubber for moldings, My 04 moldings around the windsheild it is already falling apart like a dry rotted tire, and so is my buddies 05 Z he bought just over a few months ago. 05 uses a diffferent shiny rubber which looks like it may be a better material and may be a fix to that problem but i guess not as his is starting to "crack and fall apart" like mine but a little less then mine cause first off his car is cleary a year newer but my 04 has the older matte finish moldings that i guess is prone to fast deterioration.

The rubber is breaking apart and black plastics on my Z is like turning a grayish white. What the hell is going on???

Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah true, but still annoying, can you imagine what our cars would look like in 15 years....i know how my 90' 300ZX TT was at 15 years old, she was in real good shape and was def built to last, these 350z's got me all iffy about em.

THATS exactly what im talking about, expect my Z is alot newer and its already doing that, it looks like they arent meant to last that long. Funny part they have a revised part# which is on the 05, it looks like its shinier but still does the same thing as my buddy is starting to do it already.

maybe you guys are using some type of polish, wax or cleaner that's damaging the rubber molding? just a thought.
my 04 mostly parked in the sun has no problems - i would go to the dealer though.

Ahaha given that Jason has only washed his car like 4 times in the last 2 years and already had a new paint job done because of it i doubt he has ever waxed it.

PS the only wax i use is KLASS, its ok to use that on everything, it doesnt harm rubber or plastics, not that i use them on the mouldings.

UV light can easily do that. Mine still looks new after 3 years.

Yet my passenger seat is really falling apart. I don't understand how that whole side of the car gets 5 times the wear and tear when I drive alone 19 times out of 20!!!

thats is true. Many so called rubber/ trim preservatives or similar products
actually dry out rubber, and if in a sunny climate its worse! usually because they contain Alchaol. same with those tire dressings

Not really, most of those waxes and polishes have petroleum distillates. Its usually window cleaners and such have alcohol and such chemicals that dry rot rubber.

I use Crystal Guard with UV protection built in. It has been two years and my moldings look better than new. Crystal Guard takes out the contaminates and seals the rubber with a VU blocker.

I have used this product for the last three years on all of my vehicles. The rubber on my '01 Nissan Pathfinder that sits in the sun, rain, hail, snow, etc... looks better than showroom new.

Check it out guys. This is one product that really works. www.crystalguard.com

No I do not work for the company. I just want to save you guys a lot of time and trouble.

If you don't like it, no problem. Just don't flame until you have tried it please.

I have a lot of people addicted to it now.

Thank you!

Is there any reason peopel cant fing Great and awesome products that are actually sold at real life stores where you can return them if they dont measure up??? heh

im not into these on line companies that charge a fortune and then shipping hassles on top of it.
