Hi.

I'm 31 yrs old.

Wanted a COOL-looking car that moved FAST.

I bought a Z.

I don't even know how to drive a MT.

However, when I cruise around town I play with the manu-matic constantly pretending I'm a RACER.

I LOVE IT - so F U ALL!!!!

I don't care if people get AT's. It's your car! But that's just B.S. A manual works better for that, too. It's just a matter of opinion.

I find AT simply FRUSTRATING... but Im sure the Z's AT can't be too bad.. My dad has an 04 Maxima and that 5AT is just amazing (I heard rumors that the Z's 5AT and the Maxi's 5AT are very similar if not almost identical)...

however, some AT's just SUCK... for a Z? 6MT ANY DAY!

I think it's stupid for 6MT people to bash 5AT people...

a) Z is a Z
b) People have preferences... to some it's a weekend sports car that gets 500km a month but to some it's a daily driver in NYC where you're rarely going over 60km/h and you're usually drinking your 15th cup of coffee, while your on your cellphone taking notes for your business (in traffic of course lol)

Maybe some people couldn't find the deal they wanted for the 6MT and had to settle for a 5AT... maybe some people just DONT WANT an MT (just how some people dont' want an AT)

c'mon - making fun of people for having 5AT is immature.

my $0.02.

Don't be a tool following the "MT's are for REAL sports car drivers and auto's are for pu*sy's" bandwagon. That is so lame. It's personal preference all the way so have the courtesy to respect other people's choice in whichever transmission/driving style they want.

No..Your dad had to get the Vette with A/T because GM M/T are a joke.

Maybe they should outsource the tranny parts from Japan or something..but then the Vette would cost god knows how much more...LOL

They both serve a purpose, MT for more control and AT for convenience. AT doesn't make the Z less of a sports car, you just don't have as much control of the power.

umm...not really. The T-56 is one of the best manual boxes out there. Its odd that this stock tranny can handle upwards of 500-600 hp. Not sure where your getting your info from.

5AT is a $1000 option according to Nissan's website when I just configured one. It is not however an option you can get on the Track edition.......6MT only.

No, the manual is going to be quicker by a small amount due to the gearing. Yes, the auto can shift quicker (and more reliable), but the gearing of the 6-speed makes it a little quicker. Not by much though.
