Luckily, the 06 coupe I checked out at the dealer was parked behind a black 05 ZR and a black 04 coupe. From what I could see in the morning sunlight and also the evening flourescent lights later in the day, the colors looked the same. I spent more time looking at the 06, so from what I noticed, the black was metallic like how the most recent Subaru WRX STI black was like--minus the brown hue that the Subaru STI black has.

Hey Jason thanks for a pic of the lights! Not to be a pest but do you think you could get a pic of the cut off? Want to see how sharp it is, and also a shot of how wide the beam pattern is? Thanks for all the info man, you really do kick ***!

Jason, I'm thinking about trading in my 03 Enthusiast for an 06 Base simply because of the tire feather issue and assuming the dealership is refusing to replace the tranny/clutch/pedal. It's at the dealership getting looked at, and the 3 year warranty ends in a couple weeks! So far I surpassed the 22k mile mark. There's also the slight oil leak on the driver side valve cover which the dealership is refusing to work on. They claim it's because of a "messy" oil change.

Any suggestions? I'm thinking about taking my Z to a different place to get it aligned again. It's not even a year since I got them aligned and it's already eating up the inner tires of my front Toyos! :-(

I had a leak on my drivers side valve cover too on my 2003! I know a few people with 03's with the problem... That is covered under your power train warranty for 60,000 miles! I did mine at 53000 miles... Take it to another dealer...

Toyo's wear out quick when they have any negitive camber on them... even on a 2006 Z that has the same negitive camber up fron you will still get inner tire wear... but inner tire wear is different then feathering... there is a way to rotate your tires on the Z that help prolong the life of the tires...

By looking at this pic, does anyone else think the Z kinda loses its individuality by having the same wheels on all trims....or are these all the same models?

Jason, could you take a side-by-side picture of a Chrome-Silver and the Silver Alloy, please?

Also, how about one from the tail-lights?

Thanks a bunch!

i dunno...
I didn't think it came on anything until this year. I've got an 03 touring with Bose. The 04s didn't have it, they just added Sat radio compatibility. I know the Japanese and maybe Euro cars have had the option for awhile, so it always got on my nerves that we didn't have it (especially when a friend of mine's 2003 Altima got it). I think the FX's had the same steering wheel as the Z with the controls on them, too.

I'd love to find out if it could be retrofitted, because there is an unused plug on the back of the HU, but I suspect even if the HU could handle it, the wiring would be a pain.

the only thing they had to do to make the 350z from good to excellent was.... make it LIGHTER.

they managed to make it heavier, lol. The coupe on canadian website is quoted 3400lbs.... The 2006 roadster is quoted at 3600lbs.... a S2000 is 800lbs LIGHTER!

You sure? I have 2003 canadian performance model and it was quoted ~3247lbs originally on canadian website.

these are the weight of the 2005 MT models on US website

base -3,339
enth- 3,346
tour- 3,400
track- 3,370
grand- 3,404

and these are the AT

enth -3,344
tour -3,380
grand -3,391

looks like it has been gaining weight since the start

At this point, we can't make fun of E46 being heavy pigs. Heck, the 06 Z's are as heavy as Mustangs! The added weight would completely negate the advantages of the increased tire width on the track model. I'll be sticking with my 03 track, thanks.

the new lights are growing on me I guess, I've never liked the amber strip much really. It's only saving grace is the amber reflectors in the bumper and on my car I have brembo brakes which are the same sorta color so at least there's a small color matching thing going on there

None with the aero package, eh? I was wondering if it was still the same stuff for the same price with the change in the front bumper. Hmmmm.

Thanks a ton for all this info, I'm about to buy a 2006

Jason,

Thanks for all the info.

Would you be able to find out if the new BOSE head end would work in the 05'? I would love the mp3 capability, and if so price?

Thanks
