I say you don't have to be a d!ckhead(this is based on fact not on opinion, based on reading the previous posts) and put other people down just 'cause you drive MT. Be tactful about it, if you don't like it, say it, but what do you get by name calling.
+100 well said. Enjoy the Z everyone.

A real track? As opposed to the fake one i have been dragging at? Last i checked, i wasn't the only one there so i'm pretty sure it's real.

some people buy these cars more for the image and feeling than the actual involvement and last 10/10ths of the experience.

i admit i have mixed feelings about this. as an enthusiest i think nissan shouldnt sell their sports car in auto.. but the logical side of me understands that nissan is in it to make money before all else. and if its ok to buy a car for that last bit of performance and involvement, why is it not ok to buy it for styling/performance and also comfort? after all, most cars are auto and its these drivers that make it more affordable.

something that's more curious though, is how porsches are built with autos.. even bmw's m3 and m5 are not available in automatics.

Gentlemen,

This argument can rage forever. The debate on MT vs AT has been going for a lot longer than some of have been driving "Sport's Cars". Jim Hall and the Chapparal racing cars from the 60's and 70's had AT in them and the debate was as fierce then as it is now. We all need to acknowledge that MT vs AT in the Z is mainly preference that is for the comfort of the driver. I have used both AT and MT for 30+ years of driving. On a standard road car that is going to be used to it's optimum capability on the race track or the AutoX course a MT will be superior to a AT, if the car has a higher end AT (i.e. Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes) the difference will be less. If we take a Nissan 350Z AT and update it it will probably perform well for any of us.

WTF...Are you for real? You beating me means nothing in the grand debate of AT vs MT.....So lets see...DomZ beating me in his no-brainer tranny Z is going to somehow reverse decades of proof that MT's are usually faster and are the top choice of the serious driver????? Brilliant....If the world was that easy we'd all have our way....Sorry it doesnt work like that...We arent discussing you and me...I could suck at MT and everyone born is good at AT so you may beat me. All that proves is that you beat me. But at the end of the day, MT's will still be faster than standard AT's..Congratulations though. You be one bad limp wrister yo..Haaaaay DomZ

Listen, if you bought an MT to feel better about yourself then good for you. The fact is you could suck at driving your MT so I'm telling you if you feel that manuals should be "sometimes almost a second faster than ATs" then prove it. Your childish derrogitory comments towards AT drivers mean you feel as if you need to prove something, so go on and do it. Big bad internet tough guy with no results huh? Haaaaay SnakeBitten !

More Ricki Lake/Jerry Springer armchair psychology???? My comments are only childish and derogatory to those with no sence of humor, thin skins and/or a pole up the azz. As for me being "big bad internet tough guy"???Whos the one challenging two people to a grudge match???

Heres a clue DumbZ leave the psychology to the professionals. You are better at driving your AT than deducing the human condition...Peace girlfriend

This is the dumbest post in this thread so far....Darwin award for this loser. Gotta love what the 90's talk shows have dont to our youth...

Note to self: Everytime someone disagrees with me, according to Ricki Lake/Springer and Paul350z, its because they are jealous, hateful, have small dicks, wish they had a car like mine[Im sure Im missing some]...

automatics are better because you don't have to do anything dumb like shift gears or step on a clutch.

hell, in an auto you can pretend like your'e driving a manual if you're trying to impress a fat chick. just put your hand on the auto shifter and pretend to shift gears and move your left leg a little bit. that way they can think "oooh what a hot stud! he drives a manual!!!"
