Vortech SC scammer! Please help us catch him!
Hi guys, on Ebay Uk there's this guy who repeatedly (under different id's all with 0 feedback etc) lists a Vortech SC, located in Scotland (sometimes Edimburgh, sometimes Aberdeen etc) and whenever anyone tried to ask him to go have a look at it, he finds excuses.
This time, he is saying he is in the US and will ship the SC from there. He wants the money via Western Union: classic scam, of course.
Was wondering if anyone, once I get hold of all the info for him, would be so kind in doing some detective work for us on the 350zUK board, maybe take pics of him etc when he goes to collect the "money" from the Western Union store..

If I don't win it, would you have another one by any chance? What do you mean by wire transfer? something like Western Union?

I talked to that guy before I bought my kit from CPRace. He listed his location in FL. I e-mailed him about it and he said the supercharger is in the UK but his car is in FL. I told him that didn't make sense, why would someone do that. He is basically an idiot that thinks everyone else is as stupid as him.
we are trying to get to locate him, he's given us 2 different addresses in Edinburgh for his Western Union details, but he says he is in USA at the moment... we are trying to get more info out of him
suggestions????
PS live thread on the UK forum as link above

Uhh..Not for nothing that was the same pictures DDawg and Saqer used on 350motoring when they listed the scam..Same guys as 10secZ,remember all that fuss. There were two threads on motoring about this but all were deleted as it was an obvious scam.He had created one screen name and listed the same item for auction that he bid up using the other screename. The funny thing is, he was selling the APS tt kit on hid DDawg Sreen name and used the same picture in one of these shots.

yeah I read that! this could be our own UK based guy though, you see, so we would like to catch him if we can! 2 of us are in contact with him separately, and he's given us 2 different addresses and names (same last name) in Edimburgh.
He wants the money via Western Union: anyone knows how it works exactly, to receive money with WU???

we are still not sure on how we find out exactly WHERE he's gonna collect the money! I'm even inclined to try and send him $1 or so, to see if I can find out where he's collecting from!

Im sure if you contact WU and let them know, they can put a notice on the transfer and when he comes to pick it up, they can have the cops called. If you get a lawyer and let him know, im sure he can help you with the legal paperwork. He is based out of UK then it wont be a big problem getting him. But if he lives else where you will have to deal with international laws and so on.
But def. get in contact with a lawyer and WU and tell them your case. Maybe they can fill you in a anti-theif program they have or something of the sort.

thing is though, he "effectively" hasn't stolen yet, since we haven't sent him any money.. of course from previous information it's cristal clear that he is a scammer, but anyway, tomorrow I'll go to WU to see if I can trace where he will pick up the money from, and maybe will send him $1 or so....
will let you guys know

UPDATE: he's sent us both a fake Ebay confirmation (for what? we never actually even bid on the item) and with that we have proof that he's a scammer. The whole thing has been reported to the Police, they'll come and take a statement tonight, hopefully they'll manage to catch the b*st*rd
