Default Bad night

i was at the track an my car was running good. well i wanted to go one more pass so i did my burnout an pulled up to the line. i revved to about 2500 an when the light turned green i dumped the clutch. well my car make a loud clankin noise an didnt move so i turned it off an back on for no reason an it still didnt move. i think the clutch went out but the bad thing is i just had the clutch flywheel an tranny replaced 8000 miles ago.

Sorry to hear about that. But you have to wonder if the problems (clutch, etc.) are due to the way you're treating the car. The Z was not built for drag racing and hole shots. I think the drive-train is too fragile to bang on it like that over and over. You can probably expect the same results each 8k miles if you continue.

Jack the rear of the car up. If the drive shaft spins when the car is in gear, its the rear end or CV. If the drive shaft isn't moving, its the clutch or tranny.

Are you still under warranty?

Very unusual. I have more than 100 time slips, and my car runs fine (knock on wood).

When you did it, did it smell really really bad? Not as in burning rubber though?

That sucked man. I saw when it happened but didn't hear it though. Depressing to see a Z go down like that.
