i know this has been covered a million times but here it goes. right now im 21, and drive a 98 max (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1105463 tell me what you think) im tired of it and im in love with the z, but the only thing holding me back is i live in NY and we get snow here. iv been researching this subject for a while but i keep finding different answers. iv heard if you get some all season tires its not horrible. then il read another thread saying it doesnt matter which tires your riding on your still gonna crash into a tree if your lucky. i also dont have enough room in my drive way for a winter beater. so what should i do, my other option is getting a 2004/05 acura TL. thanks in advance(1st post hope its not the last)

There are certainly people who use their Z as a winter car, installing Blizzaks or similar, and they do ok. I personally wouldn't (especially in a place like NY) have the Z as my only car. You guys get some hella nasty winters, and even if you can 'get around' in the Z, it's going to take a real toll on your car.
I'd stick with the Max.
I'd stick with the Max.

I look at it this way, I baby my Z in the summer. I freak out if there is any rock chips or if someone comes close to it with some metal stuff sticking out of their pockets/jeans. I personally hand wash my car because I don't want any marks on my car. So why in hell would I drive it in the winter using a scraper on the body of the Z to scarpe ice and snow off it? Or put my boots that is full of salt/slush/etc. in my Z. It's hard to even think about it.
But then again, some people lease their Z and really don't care how they treat it for the duration of the terms. Or some people just think it's just a car and don't care how it is treated.

I love my car just as much as anyone on this board, trust me I do. But the way I look at it is that I bought the car to drive it. It was a big investment for me, exspecially seeing as to how I was 19 when I bought it so I'm going to ge the most out of it. I do not have winter tires so I cant give you my opinion on those, however I personally know plenty of people who do and they have no problems.

A month ago I got caught in a "blizzard" on a long trip home. It started snowing really hard and stuck to the road fast. Before I knew it there was an inch of snow covering the roads and it was growing fast. Well, I didn't make it home, and I will never risk my Z again like that trying to get home. It was horrible. I should have stopped in the safest place possible and called someone to pick me up.

Hey BayV...
I just picked up my Z last week, just before that annoying little snow storm we had here in NY (I live on Long Island). Just for yuks, I took the car down my very flat street... WHAT A HORROR!!!! I also have an NSX that is not good (better than the Z, but not good) in the snow. You will absolutely have to put snow tires on this car to have any chance of driving this thing throughout the winter. Good luck...
