Sell the Z and Buy a NSX?
It seems I'm in the minority, but that 350Z in the picture looks so much better then that nsx in front of it. But that's just my taste.

Any advice?

Driving Observations:
The car handles and brakes like a go kart. The lack of power steering shows you just what you have been missing if you have been driving anything that has it. Shift linkage, superb. Brakes superb. Visibility superb. Power a bit low, but that can be remedied depending upon how fat your wallet is. See the CompTech or Science of Speed web sites for all kinds of ways to be car rich and house poor. The appropriate header, exhaust, and air intake can gain you 25+ hp if installed properly. My car exhibits mild understeer when pushed to the limits, transitioning to moderate oversteer if you choose to chop throttle in mid-corner (not recommended unless you know what you are doing). These characteristics are based on "at the limit" driving. During normal driving, everything is neutral.
Maintenance and Parts:
Expensive. Parts are not high volume items = expensive. Labor can be expensive...make sure you find an Acura dealer or specialized mechanic who can work on the car properly. Sometimes parts might not be in stock and you might have to wait. Several on-line forums (especially http://www.nsxprime.com) offer information and parts at a discount. Depending upon how you choose to set up wheel alignment (the OEM specs are very aggressive as they were designed for track use), you will experience above average tire wear. The plus side is that the car will handle like a go kart.
Stalking Quotient:
I purchased the car for occasional track days and spirited driving...by myself. I absolutely did not consider or count on the often unwanted attention of "Fast & Furious" drivers, folks driving "American Iron", or other normally reasonable people who try to race you, goad you into doing something stupid, or who stalk you in your blind spot looking at the car while you figure out how to change lanes without causing an accident.
Bottom Line:
Based upon my experience, I'd buy the NSX again in a heartbeat. I'll probably buy some performance upgrades in the future...but the car is just fine the way it is. I used to road race motorcycles, and I currently have a very highly modified, and very, very fast, Ducati 998R Superbike. The NSX is the only thing that has ever prevented me from wanting to ride the Ducati just to be able to enjoy going fast.
All I can say is that this is a $40,000 car. If you can buy it for $30k, you're a fool not to.
BTW- A stock 350Z is not faster than this car.
A stock 3.2l NSX is putting about 270hp to the wheels.
If you buy this car, you won't regret it. If you don't like it, sell it for $42k and go buy a brand new 350z.

All with honda reliability. Your choice, your money, Id do it just for the ***** factor, and if you dont like it, you can ALWAYS find another Z thats in better condition or modded the way you like it for much cheaper than doing it your self.
just my 02 and experience...
cheers
Since this is a thread about deciding to either keep the Z or buy a NSX and jensei888 posted a nsx with a body kit, I'd thought it would be fair to post my favorite 350Z which has the top secret wide body kit:

2nd favorite 350Z wide body:

I'm still in love with that Top Secret Wide Body Z.

I was looking for an NSX a while back. And while they are awesome cars, I just wouldn't want to have to pay for maintenance and if it ever gets in an accident it will most likely be totalled because of the cost of replacement parts and how hard it is to repair aluminum. So for a daily driver like I would have been using it for, it would have killed me if someone sideswiped me or something stupid like that. And here in Vegas, it's not very hard to get in an accident. I get too emotionally attached to my babies to drive an NSX here. LOL. That is an awesome deal on a '97 though. Good luck with your decision.
