Tire Noise
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. I had replaced my original stock tires and wheels and soon after had noticed that I was ripping through tires WAY too fast. I had an accident where I totaled my Z, but on the damaged car I had realized that I again had worn out my tires. Several specialty alignment shops were at a loss and told me that Nissan had not released the proper specifications and that they could not repair the problem that was causing my tires to wear improperly. Finally I got a notice from Nissan that said there was a problem and that they would be reimbursing people for aftermarket tires and replacing stock tires. Well, I filled out all of the necessary paperwork and included all of my documentation. The other day I got a letter back saying that because I had gotten the repairs done at another shop (my dealer was not equipped to adjust my tires at all because they were too big at with 19" rims) that they were not going to reimburse me. I have driven less than 30 thousand miles and am on my 3rd set of replacement tires. This is insane! Anyone been successful in squeezing any money out of Nissan? I am getting ready to take them to court on this, because it just isn't right.

The dealer referred me to Nissan corporate. This is totally unfair - I replaced my stock tires and then after that had to replace my aftermarket tires twice because of this issue. Once Nissan released the new specs, I was able to have it properly repaired. Just because I chose to get larger rims and tires shouldn't absolve Nissan of this responsibility. I am going to continue to fight this and am going to file complaints with the FTC and the department of consumer affairs. This isn't right, I've been a Nissan customer since I learned to drive, and I should receive some sort of restitution here.
