I find this topic amusing. Just picturing it in my head makes me laugh out loud.

I don't think anyone in here would do it, and I give for drivenCSZ to even think of something out of the norm

+1. I have no data to support this idea, but common sense says that exhaust fumes travel up the rear of the car then into the hatch.

Its been studied and found that on trucks you get better gas mileage if you leave the truck gate up since leaving it down will cause multiple eddies right behind the cab. Leaving the gate up essentially acts like a spoiler allowing for smooth airflow over the bed.

Some owners of Corvette coupes remove their tops, then prop open
the hatch about 4 inches w/aftermarket gadget...supposed to reduce
turbulence in cabin, but also sucks in exhaust fumes....

It would look terrible IMO. Just look at your car from the bak with the hatch open.

If you really want to do something like that, get one of those 600-700$ CF hatches off eBay and put it on. They come without glass. You could even make some kind of Lexan removable window, if you want to go all out...

Id imagine it would be a PIA to take off, would it affect the driving dynamics/any rigidity problems? I wouldnt think so, the rear strut would still be completely intact.
i think that would look SICK!! as in barf.. not to mention when it is closed its part of the structure

you would have those exposed hinges/ ect.

you could leave it open and say its a Superwing that would impress uneducated ricer types. lol
