Arrow Hotwheels to release 1/18th scale 350Z

Hotwheels will be releasing a 1/18th Scale diecast 350Z this March. I have the AutoArt one in silver. Hope it'll be available in Daytona Blue

youve never seen what some people do to their diecast cars?

they begin by completely disassembling it. then they take sand paper and stripper and take it down to the bare metal. then they paint, get all into the painting, sand it so its smooth, then put a gloss coat. make it whatever color you want. Ive heard of some people doing it with touchup paint to get an exact color of their own car.

you could always do that if your into that hobby at all.

by the way, when there done, some people sell the car on EBAY, they have pulled in over 100$ for those "tuner" cars that come all riced out, and they derice it. costs like 20$ to buy.(I know the Z was like 80)

everyone needs a hobby, grab a table while your watchin TV, and play with it. it doesnt take much time. bout 30minutes to disassemble the car, strip the paint panel by panel over a few nights, and then painting is quick, just gotta let it dry.

Hehe, I used to build scale models all the time. Maybe I'll make time for it. My Overlay business takes up most of my free time.

BTW, here's a pic of the Hotwheels 350Z in 1/18th Scale. The release date is sometime this month, not March.

Here's the AutoArt one. Much better quality but it also retails for $50. The Hotwheel one will be in around $25.

Do I see 6 spokes on the rims of the AutoArt? I thought their were only the 5 spoke and 7 spoke and then the Volk rims?

Performance, and Touring 6MT have 6-spoke Al alloy wheels. Track has 6-spoke super-light forged-alloy Rays. All others have 7-spoke Al alloy.

Personally, I like the 5 spoke look.

I liked the 6-spoke wheels on the 6MT Touring that I test-drove, but at the time I was thinking of ordering the Enthusiast, perhaps the most Z for the money. But when I found out that the same 6-spoke wheels were on the Performance, and with the other Performance stuff such as tire pressure monitors and VDC, that made the difference for me.

Obviously, just my opinion.

I really like collecting model cars, and I build a few as well. Here's a couple pics of the 300ZX that I built a while ago. Took, me 6 months, but it's quite customized, and school took away a lot of my time. It's a really fun hobby to get into, and there's that great feeling of finishing admiring a model after you just finished it. I can't wait to get started on my 350Z model.

If you like, you can see more pics of my model at

I used to build scale models too. I did alot of scratchbuilding. I have an Art Degree from SDSU, so we always messed around with scale models. Nowadays I pretty much collect just the diecast models, but I always tell myself I'm gonna build something from scratch.

I just wish that the tamiya "track" model had track rims.

as for the auto art, I would really like to make it look more like my car, but I would have to make (in order of difficulty) spoiler, splash guards, and rims!!

a bit beyond my meager skills, but definately cool though.

The local hobby shop near my place sells kit accessories. They have a bunch of 1/24th scale wheels to choose from.

Are there other color choices besides the Chrome Silver?
