How do I tell it's a "Track" Version?
I’m looking at getting a 350Z in the near future. From the research I’ve gathered from this form I’ve come to the conclusion the 05 would be the best model, the feathering issue has been resolved, the tranny is better. Ultimatly the 2005 Track version will be the best out of the entire lot, it has 300HP and 274 ft/lb of torque. The thing I can’t figure out is how do I tell a “Track” version from the other versions?
Although it's going to be hard to find a 2005 350Z track model!

Thanks for the info, I'm glad it doesn't have leather. Does it have a navigation system ( I hope not). I can't stand all that useless stuff.
According to ww.carpoint.com the 2005 Track model has 300HP and 274 ft/tq. Is carpoint.com wrong?!

The only reason I was looking at carpoint.com, because it allows you to look at older models. The manufacturer sites only display current year models.

Most obvious is that the '05 track will have the 6 spoke Rays forges wheels. Only the Track model came with those in '03-'05, unlike now in '06 where both the GT and Track come with the new 5 spoke Rays.
*edit* I see you are in Canada. Not sure on the rims up there...

The track is $8K more than the base and for what????? A quasi-lsd, on-board nannies that take away from the driver, wind diffusers under the car that nobody actually knows does anything, and light wheels that aren't wide enough, and brakes that barely out perform the stock ones(only 12.6" I believe). That $8K will buy an aftermarket kick@ss LSD, Wilwood 14" BBK F&R, and a nice set of wheels and sticky rubber. I think the Track model is the worst value. At least the touring serves its purpose.
MustGoFastR, according to the Nissan site, it comes with Rays forged alloy-wheels.

The 300hp engine has 260lb/ft torque.
The 287hp engine has 274lb/ft torque.
A Track should have Brembo's, a rear spoiler, a front air diffuser (a small strip of plastic under the front bumper), and cloth seats.
Some Tracks have Nav but most do not. It's an option.
Brembos + cloth seats + spoiler and front diffuser = 99% a Track model.
