Default Car Won't Fire with New Built Motor...

I (the Nissan dealer) just installed a new built motor in my Z and everything looks good, but when the motor turns over I'm not getting any spark. We're getting fuel and they've checked all the sensors and they seem to good. Now they're thinking there's something wrong with the ECU (which was just flashed).

What else would cause the ECU not to send a signal to spark.

Thanks for any help/ideas.

How about plugging an other ECU?

This morning they're going to take off the UTEC and if that doesn't fix it (I doubt it will), they're going to swap out the ECU.

They didn't mess with the flywheel did they? Mine wouldn't fire when they put a new transmission in it because they'd misaligned it, and the sensors were reading it wrong. Also, a crank sensor might cause something like that.

You might be dead on. Along with the new motor, they also put in a new transmission. They're taking the transmission back apart now to check the flywheel alignment. Hopefully that's it.

Thanks for the input.

You were right. It was the flywheel alignment. After that was fixed the motor fired right up and sounds great. Thanks for the help.
