Default LEDs in The Door Handles.

I would like to rig them to light up with the dome lights, that way when U open your doors, or even unlock your doors with the remoke they would light up. U people act like you don remember the cars of just maybe even 1985 thru 1992 that had the key hole in the door handles light up, I had several Nissans that did that.

Have just one led planted behind the door handle, and splice it into the dome light. That way whenever you press unlock on the keyfob, the handle will be background lit. It will be very muted and classy and stealth.

Hey guys, I was wondering what you guys thought of LED's in the doorhandles. I seen pictures from when we were still in the dark about the Z. But the picture was definately a photoshop. I would think that the LED's in the door handles would compliment the LED's in the front reflectors. Hopefully someone has this picture or I will find it and post it, it is an old picture. You old school guys might know what I am talking about.

SUPER RICE!

I used to like it... so I wont give it super duper ricey. on a show car, made for the purpose to be shown, with a nice hookup(cant see the lights) in a color that matches the car. I think its one of the less offensive and more eye catching neon accents.

If they just came on to help you locate the handle at night - NO RICE.

IF they came on and stayed on when you were driving at night - ALL THE WAY RICE.

come on, think about it people!

found my post about underbody neon? not sure how that goes, if your talking about a show car, then it might have a place. but again, your not, your talking about a normal car. also I didnt give it super duper rice, but I gave it one level under that.

I would find that hard to see where you're going. no head lights, no instrument lights, just a bright Nav screen.

LED on the handle is just an option. Everyone wants their car unique. Either speed or looks.

Now if the led where arrange to for the letter R, then thats consider RICE. but having it lit when opening or alarm would add a nice touch.

From what I remember, KITT from knight rider had a series of LEDs on the handle that lit up when you open the door.

Plus adding it just draws a little more attention to the car.

it doesnt draw attention to the car, it draws it to the door handles, but hey I guess if you think 3 little lights will help your car look better, its your car right?

go for it, but Im afraid you asked an opinion with this thread, I gave you one, if you didnt want to hear it, perhaps you shouldnt have asked?

You mean that you've never seen the Toyota pod - it interacts with other vehicles, if you cut it up it lights up red, it has a tail that wags when you let it overtake...

It's a tamagotchi thing...

I'd seen it before but not in a photo like that. In the photo it just happens to remind me of a silver toaster with wheels.

That tail would be broken off by pranksters.

we could install led's in the spray nozzles that only come on when you're spraying your windshield too, now that would be classy...

<<From what I remember, KITT from knight rider had a series of LEDs on the handle that lit up when you open the door.>>

That would be enough to convince me!! IMO, unless the LEDs we wired with the illuminated entry system, its rice, and even that is pushing the line. Give it up!!! Lights to help you find the handles from 2 feet away!?!?! If you can find the door handles, you do not need to be driving on the same roads as me & my family! STOP LOOKING FOR EXCUSES! If you want to do this to your car for looks, do it! If not, DON'T. But don't try to justify it's application as "classy" or useful, just so a majority of users here will "accept" you. Enough said.
