This is all a matter of personal opinion. The G is not strictly better than the Z. They are totally different cars with completley different personalities and road manners. Sports car vs Sports coupe. matter of opinion.

Not really true, my GT priced out higer than most of the G's that I looked at.

After all my extra Nismo parts it was a lot higher than all the G's I looked at.

Uhh, read my other post more carefully; I said that the STARTING price for the G35 coupe is higher than that of a Z. G35c's start at $33,800, while the Z's start off around $27,650. Sure you can add a bunch of options to the Z to make it more expensive, but you can also do the same for the G (even though they dont get as many options as the Z). Im not counting in the roadster because obviously the G35 doesnt have a convertible version of the G.

Besides, they definately arent completely different cars; thats an understatement. They share many of the same components, except like i said before, one is a nissan, and the other is an infiniti. They just have to different flavors in look and style. thats all

Question

I still can't decide whether I want a G or Z. Here are my plans:

I am planning on heavily modding the car (G or Z) by adding a twin turbo and I will basically be spending over 14,000 on mods to achieve well over 500 hp and buying exterior modifications along with zeal xs coilovers.

If i get a G it will definetely be AT but if I get a Z I will get a 6-speed. And since I am starting college next fall I was wondering if the Z would make a decent daily driver for a college student who doesn't really need extra cargo space or back seats.

I feel that I won't be driving the car too much and will try to keep the miles relatively low since my college will be relatively close to home.

So if I am planning on heavily modding a G or Z and plan to street race and use as a daily driver which car would be better?

And about the Zeal XS coilovers, can you add the tein EDFC to these coilovers (sorry for the noob question but I am relatively new to the EDFC system.)

Chill out bro, I was just pointing out that a loaded Z is about the same if not more than the comparable G. The problem with your posts is that you keep cheapshotting the Z...on a Z site. That ain't gonna get you very far.

Default G35->350z

I drove three G35's over a three month period, looking for a dealer that wasn't a weasel, and couldn't pull the trigger. Went down to LOOK at an '06 Grand Touring Z, and bought it on the spot. For two cars with essentially the same parts, they act completely different. Make mine Z...
And yes, the dealer was a weasel.

The Z has a much sportier character than the G35C. It is lower than the G35C and has a better stance. The Z's seating position is much better in my opinion, and the intruments layout is more exciting. The Z is lighter too. The 2006 Z's cosmetic improvements made the difference for me. I just enjoy driving the Z and find it hard to get out of it. I just did not get the same feeling when I used to drive the G35C.

It's as if the car has charisma, which sounds weird, but I think is true.

why would you settle? you said that the g is better so why don't you get it. do you really want to spend 30K+ on a z when you want another car? sorry but this sounds a little trollish.

i was stuck on the g for a while. i test drove the g and when i got back to the dealership, i saw the z parked outside. i couldn't keep my eyes off of it. the fenders or hips, the lines, the ***. the dealer was like "oh, you don't want that". it wasn't for sale. i then went to another dealership to test drive a z and fell in love. never had a boring moment with my car.

hmmm what are you talking about? I think the Z is an amazing car, but obviously im kinda leaning towards the G. Maybe i was giving the wrong impression with my statements; to me their almost identical, except they have different curves (basically the only thing i see diff is the exterior minus 2 seats). I wouldnt mind getting either car. I just try not to pay attention to any posts that contain opinions because obviously everyone, or almost everyone here, will give a biased opinion to the Z. I just cant wait to get my car @ the end of this year!
