Just got a "nice f'n car man, i've always wanted one of those, you'll have to take me for a ride sometime" from my friend that i've known for a while but we never had seen or talked about each other's cars.
I got the same porsche comment coming out of the bank just a week ago, I have an 07 ppw touring. The bank teller asked me how I liked my porsche, I told her I loved it!- 2nd- guy parked next to me at the International Mall in Tampa in a 06 black M5, I told him he had a bad azz car, he replied my car was pretty bad azz as well. Ive only had the car 2 weeks, so its nice to see people admire it..
my car is not the best looking Z but at NOPI it felt really good to have people give me thumbs up, have a couple of kids tell their parents "I really like that car!", people taking pictures and video while on the road.....guess i don't really get compliments like that back here at home

The best compliment I have received was when an old lady was driving her brand new lexus sc430 and I pulled up next to her at a stoplight and she says, "That is an awsome car, that thing looks fast." I told her it's probably a little quicker than her car, but thanks. Lol

Every G35 or 350 I see exchanges thumbs up with me. That is cool. Have had other cars and it is "stare straight ahead...pretend you don't see them". I appreciate the lines of this design. It is what I find the most attractive. The lines. The curve of the a$$ end. The slope of the roof. I got a coupe because (no insult to roadsters) I find the roof makes the car. That is distinctive, and you lose that in the roadster.
Day I pick up my car, they have it in the showroom, with a tarp over it. I come in, go up to the manager, who was my salesperson, and ask him "is that it?". He walks over to it and slips off the tarp. First time I had seen the color for real. I was speechless. For me, silver/black/carbon show the lines of the car. PPW/red/DB/SO are more about the color. Fact that the extras came with the car, covered, was a bonus.
Anyways, as I'm standing there just looking at my car while they finished the papers, a married couple are talking as they walk towards the car. The woman says to her husband "oh look at this. Look at this car. Do you think I can sit in it?" to which he responds "Sure. Your just sitting in it."
Well she opens the passenger side and sits in it and smiles. He then notices me watching with a smile on my face as he notices the "sold" sign on the dash and asks "your car?"
I nod my head "yes".
"Congratulations." he says to me.
"Yes, congratulations." his wife says.
"Thank you." I respond.
She gets up and closes the door, smiles, and they walk towards the sales pit where they were negotiating their price on an Altima. Got congratulated for what? For finding a way to finance my dream? Felt great though.
Last friday called my friends boss and asked if he wanted to go for a drink, I'd pick him up. Banking data center. He heard what car I got, but as he gets in, and sits in the seat, he goes "oh yeah. I knew it would feel right"
We took off, cruised down portage avenue in Winnipeg, showing him some acceleration in 2nd gear. It rocked having an appreciative passenger. Too bad I'll never get to experience that feeling.
My sons friend told him "your Dad has the coolest car I have ever seen!"
Every friend has had a ride with me. Everyone of them has a huge smile on their face from second gear on.
Last night, after my 13 year old sons "meet the teacher" night, my ex is standing there as my 9 year old daughter asks "Dad, can I get a ride home in the Z?"
"Hey, Dad, it's my turn." my 13 year old says. In front of my ex, they have to pick a number till my daughter wins and gloats over her brother. They love cruising with Dad. Can't put a price on that. Here is a pic taken at the legislature building here in Winnipeg last friday night. Picked it up August 31st.
