do you tell them that *your* car is the version from Japan, or do you just tell them that it's the badge they use in Japan? big difference in douchebag levels there. I would hope people would be clever enough to look at what side of the car the steering wheel is on as a tip off.

*edited to fix the typo Shad pointed out. fk. : )

You mean what side of the car, correct?
I personally don't get why someone would put the Fairlady badge on if it was a 350Z. Then again, I don't get the fad of plastering a bunch of stickers on a car either as I like the clean look but each to their own.

do you have stickers that add horse power too?
Fairlady Z is the actual name of the car, it was named after the Broadway Musical, "My Fair Lady". The maker of the Z (name slips my mind) liked the show so much that when he designed the Z he named it "Fairlady Z". However, he knew that the american public would not purchase a car with a feminan name. So henamedit in the states by the size of engine i.e. 280Z, 300ZX, 350Z etc. So there really is nothing wrong with having the "Fairlady Z" badge on your car. Z enthusiatst know the story behind the name Fairlady.

Anyway, best compliment I ever got was by a MP on post. Im drving at 25mph and stops me because he said I was doing at least 55mph. I told him to show me the radar gun. Turns out he never had it pointed at me, it just looked like i was going fast. Silly silly military pigs.

I don't think there's anything terribly wrong with it, as indicated by a sentence in that quote, but all of the ricers that do it and ******** people about the meaning of the badge.. that I dislike, and is enough reason to prevent me from doing it (even though I would personally like to)

Yeah I feel you on that one. I have it on mine, but I keep my Z as clean as possible. Kinda gets annoying though because people start to ask if thats what I named my car.

Winnipeg has lots of Ukrainians here!! 800,000 people so lots of everything. Nice thing is that there aren't a lot of Z's so you stand out on a daily basis.
One thing that makes a big difference I have found is keeping your car clean. I get so many people that notice my car because it is always spotless.
Using NXT 2.0 as the final coat when I clean and it sure makes your car shine.

not the best, but def the strangest compliment i ever got was actually today. i was at a red light in my 2004.5 performance z when a car full of women yelled to me "hey is that a space car?" i said "probably" and then took off.

I love driving this car!! Whether it is driving down the street on my way home and going by a pizza delivery guy who just stares open mouthed, or parents on my street who walk up to me when I park out of my garage and say "Is that yours?" like it is a lambo, I enjoy it.
Took this picture last weekend early in the morning just out of the city. I was saying to my son that I am sure glad that I bought this car instead of a vette as there are way too many vettes in this city whether it is late 80's versions or the newest ones.
And I came close to buying a Solstice GXP before I bought the Z. Thank god too because everyone I see driving a Solstice is a girl, or someone who is thinking about surgically becoming a girl. LOL.

I was at a Hess to fill my Z up. There were like four dudes standing near the entrance door to the gas station and as I walked towards the entrance door I noticed they were looking at my Z. I went in to pay and when I walked out one of them said to me "I bet you get all the girls with that ride". I just smiled and kept walking.

I was headed down I275 following a yellow Ferrari F430 F1 convertible. I checked out his ride from a couple different angles. I'd seen the F1 version in red but this was the first yellow I'd seen. Anyway, I passed him on the left side at a polite and slow pace. Gave a kind nod of the head to acknowledge approval and then went on.

A few more miles down the road the traffic got lighter and I opened her up a little to get past a slow Ohio plated mini-van in the left lane. I noticed the Ferrari was trying to catch up. (Like that is hard)

The next exit was mine and we both pulled off. It was a double right turn lane and I took the right side and he took the left. Stopped by traffic in my lane, he pulls up next to my car (stopping traffic in his lane) and said how much he liked the sound of my car.

I was dumbfounded. Here, this guy's carbon ceramic brakes cost more than what I paid for this used car and he was saying how much he liked it. I don't remember what I said back because I was shocked so much. I just hope I didn't say something ignorant. LOL

Yeah I drove by a 360 Modena. I don't mess with Ferrari's and give them respect. I passed him slowly and he whips behind me. Now he's tailin' me, but for a Ferrari it felt cool. Kinda seemed liked he wanted to go. He passed me making a right turn and gave me a nod and a smile. Made me feel damn good.

Ah just remembered! True Story:

So I was crusin' with my brother. I spot a white Bentley. Chrome rims, limo tints, all tricked out. He had his window cracked so I decided to be a show-off and I down-shifted next to him and gave it some gas. I look over and who is it? 50 Cent! He gave me a little smile and then shifted a lane and flew off. Good times!
