Will it come with Mobile 1 oil from the factory?
I just got my new Autoweek in the mail yesterday. There is a photo of the engine bay that shows the strut tower brace. If you look closely, you can see that someone has written "10w30 Mobile1" on the brace (looks like permanent marker). Has anyone heard rumors of the car coming with synthetic oil or is it more likely that the test car has already had an oil change? Sorry, I cannot scan the photo. Can anyone else with this issue scan & post?

I'm interested in knowing why they were using 10W30. I thought most cars were coming out of the factory with 5W30 or lighter as of late.
My 1998 Pathfinder takes 5W30, and I was hoping to keep one grade of oil on the shelf once my Z showed up (just to keep things simple).

Dont know how much of a difference 5w30 vs 10w30 will really make. To my experience, many cars will take either kind for most normal driving. It's in either extreme heat or cold that it would make a difference on which wieght you should use.
But like I said before that is my observation, I would like to get some pro input on this actually

It just makes a difference on cold start up. The thinner the oil when it's cold, the better lubrication you get. The first number is the weight when cold, the second is the weight when hot. Lower number --> thinner oil. A negative side effect to keeping the oil too thin is that it doesn't cling to engine parts as well. The heavier weight could also be the best thing for this particular valve train (maybe even just to reduce chatter on start up) or to limit vibration in the engine at start up.
