The 06 Base model is the only one without the 300, it has like, 270ish or something.
The 300hps have 260ft/lbs.
As for the mods to get it 300, I dont have a clue.

I think the 06's have a slightly different cam which makes the red line a bit higher. NOTE: I think

I think I read it on the actual nissan usa web page, the only changes they made was to the exhaust. The new models sound different because of it, and they have 300hp. The engine, and everything else is the same x ept for some small external things.

I dunno exactly, but from what I've read, the rev-up engines have a different lower intake plenum, maybe different cam, dual-port exhaust, and higher redline. Can anyone confirm this?

This is basically the only useful post in this thread.

I can confirm the newer lower-intake plenum, variable-valve timing on the both the intake and exhaust cam, forged internals, and a higher redline.

^^^ Yeah, I haven't seen this much disinformation in a single post in quite a while.

And for the record:

Original engine: 287HP / 274TQ
Rev-up engine: 300HP / 260TQ

I've never owned a 350 before. But considering how the direction the import tuner market is headed, my best guess is that the timing on the car has been changed. This is apparent when the HP numbers have increased but the torque figures have stayed relatively the same, which looks to be the case here. The timing has probably been advanced by 1-1.5 degrees with different cam shafts to compensate for the increased timing.

This would explain why the models prior to the 06s feel more torqy.

Can anyone confirm the numbers? 06 HP and Torque v. Pre 06 Hp and TQ?

Cheers
Allen

The previous models have 14 more ft-lbs of torque, but the newer models have 13 more hp. I have an '04 base model and yeah maxims numbers are right for both years... mine is 287hp:274tq.... I would take HP over TQ any day. Luckily I have one of the lighter models so my lbs:hp ratio is still better than any of the '06's with 300hp.

Peak numbers mean poop. Area under the power curve is all that matters.

Going from 287 to 300 is always doable with small chips. Just like the BMW E46 325 AND 330. The additioanl gain on the 330 is due to a small chip inside the engine. Same engine and same everythinggggggggggg. Just a little chip!!
