Did I blow it?
I got a few more miles until I hit 1200, but on a few occasions (about 5 or 6), I accidentally took it up to 5000rpm....I know I was supposed to keep it under 4K...so, what do you yall think? Did I blow it?
I'm sure you (and your engine) will be fine. I think the main thing is that you didn't hold the engine up at higher RPM's for prolonged persiods of time. Higher meaning even higher than 5K.
theres no magical switch at 1200 that makes 6600 ok. your best off to be a bit free-er with the gas over 600miles, not redline, but 5000 is good-and at 1000miles feel free to hit 6000. try to do it in 2nd and 3rd gear vs 1st. its a bit smoother in the higher gears rather than the winding out of 1st.
but dont worry your car is fine.

I can't seem to keep my RPMs down either. I just picked mine up yesterday. I have hit redline once (on accident) and been to 5k a few times. I just make sure the car is warm, and I don't just race around everywhere, just an occasional accel.

That's exactly what I did, no red line though, and she runs awesome now! 5200 miles.
I don't think anyone has been able to keep the rev's below 4000 for the enitre break in period. I also "cheated" a couple times and went to 5500 or so.
As long as you aren't racing around a track at 6000 RPM for 20 minutes at a time, you should be fine (that comes after the break-in period).

NOT gonna happen, unless a lil ole lady bought it.
It would be pretty difficult to screw up your car by taking the revs up. Cars aren't like they used to be. Break-in is not REALLY necessary anymore, but you wouldn't want to take it to a race track with 10 miles on it right after you bought it.
I did the break-in of 1200 miles just to be safe, but I took it to redline a half dozen times or so before break-in was over, and my car runs perfectly now at just under 3k miles.
