Default Help, strange noise

My 2003 started making a loud squeeking noise (kinda like a kettle) yesterday. Happens all the time when I turn the wheel to the right and the sound is constant. Only happens part of the time when I turn left but it's the same sound both ways. Sound sometimes continues when I'm going straight after a turn. Any ideas on what is causing this? My boss said it could be my power steering pump. Does that sound right? What else could it be? Depending on what it is will it be covered under warranty? Thanks very much in advance for the help.

Of course it is covered under warranty! Assuming you still have some of your warranty left?
Peace!

Check the tightness of the belt. It could be loose. This'll cause squealing sometimes.

No leaking of any kind at this point. Doesn't sound any worse when I turn the wheel all the way. Actually it's a higher pitched louder sound when I barely, and I mean barely, move the wheel. Also it only makes noise when I'm moving, if I'm stopped then there is no noise at all. Definitely not brake pad warning the sounds occurs with wheel use not brake use. What belt(s) should I check? I don't really ever work on cars myself.

if you do not have experience working on cars and it is under warranty then take it in....if it is not under warranty then take it in to get an estimate, you need to find out what it is....if you do throw a belt or something could cause more damage....not trying to scare you, just need to be safe, alsoif you have to have work done you want it as inexpensive as possible....unfortunately i cannot walk you through changing a belt on this post if you have never done anything like that before....and i know nobody else here would either, to risky....let the shop tell you what it is then post back what they say
