the camry beats the Z in every category except maybe gas mileage. plus the camry is a toyota, that means its much higher quality.
ever heard of a camry getting tire feathering issues? thought so.
go with camry.

0-60 mph: 6.70s
1/4 mile: 15.05s @ 98.80 mph ... top speed 140 mph
curb weight: 3516 lbs
no f-in way is this grocery getter faster in any category especially the 1/4 mile. Even if the person driving is an average driver they'd really have to f-up to get their Z over 15 seconds in the 1/4.
sounds meaner? handles better? are you sure you know what car you're talking about? If you want to compare the handling of a Z to a s2k(not as good), audi TT(better), or a Z3(not as good) then you might starting making a little sense.
even my fat *** 05 roadster (curb weight:3,462 lbs) could beat a XLE straight away or on curves.
I don't know why I'm stooping this low by camparing the Z to a Camry .... come on its-a-camry.

what does the elise weigh? Like 3600lbs? With a 1/4 tank of gas??!!!, to top it all off, its only a 2.7liter engine from mazda. who the hell woudl put a 2.7 liter engine in such a heavy car?
Look, price for price, I would get the Z because it out handles the elise, and can almost out handle the S in the twisties. If you're looking for a nice cruising car, defintely get the S because it has a softer ride and can hold more people than the elise.
If you must get an elise, atleast try to get it with the factory sport package because if you don't, it won't handle very well.

Not sure what this guy is reading, lol. Gas mileage is a plus, 4 door with more room plus. Reliable is a plus. Faster than the Z, by far.
I am not sure why he even comparing the two cars. Compare two cars alike. Maybe the Camry vs. Acura TL. Acura TL is an awesome car. Sport and Casual. Enough room for the family.

Not sure if this was directed at me ... I watched video and the only difference is their 1/4 was 14.9 @ 99 mph instead 15.05 @ 98 mph (probably used a better drive) ... 0-60 was still 6.8 .... I got the curb weight (XLE) from cars dot com. So what's wrong with the spec?

I don't care how fast a Camry is.
Just get the Camry if you can EVEN CONSIDER THE THING!!!!
You'll thank yourself for the praticality down the line.
And +1 on Uncut's sarcasm.
Beats reading a million BS opinions from everyone else who usually don't know wtf they're yappin about.

I do not believe a comparison test between your average run of the mill camry. Every one has one. Don't get me wrong, the 07' camry is a very nice car. The lexus version is like 32K I think. but comparing it to a Z, it does not make much sense to me. Sounds like to me though you want practicallity with sport if you are comparing two cars that are totally different. Rode in a 05' camry with about 35,000 miles on it the other day everything feels like a baseline GM vehicle. I think toyota did a lot better job with this one though, but still these cars are nothing alike, grocery getter car vs. head turning car. Look at the IS350, ES350 G35, Altima SE-R, Subaru Legacy, MazdaSpeed 6, Hope this helps. You can research these cars at msnautos.com or caranddriver.com

Bought a 2004 Murano six months ago with 23K miles on it. Loved the Mo but have always wanted a Z again (I used to have a '78 280Z). Three weeks ago, I traded my Mo for an '06 SS Z. Never looked back. But if you want practicality, I'll drive a Mo before I get a Camry -- hands down!
