I sometimes just don't get it. How can two cars meant for two entirely different buyer segments even serve as a purchase decision point?
This is the most unusual Z vs. __ thread I have read, I must say. And we get a lot of them. That said, do let us know which way you end up swinging.

I can't seem to tolerate people who cross shop on such a wide spectrum.
Usually I just tell them to get the OTHER vehicle.
We are saturated with 350z's as is.
No need for more 'on the fence' owners who aren't sure what they want.
You either want the Z or you don't. Get a CAMRY if you can even consider it.

My friend has one and is a test car for big Lexus parts developer, with just an intake and no tune he was putting down 296whp in his 06 is350. Damn good numbers if you ask me.
So a stock IS350 putting down 306hp, can put down 296whp with just an intake?

the camry beats the Z in every category except maybe gas mileage. plus the camry is a toyota, that means its much higher quality.
ever heard of a camry getting tire feathering issues? thought so.
go with camry.

For me it was either replace my motorbike with a 2 seater sports car.
Or get rid of the daewoo for a 4X4 family car.
SO it was either a Z or a Murano.
I want both,so I guess I am not a real cross shopper
Buy yeah, at one stage it was should I get the Z or Murano.
But it was more like which one first.
Perhaps this thread is of a similar nature?
Who knows, but, I also fail to see a comparison between a ZED and a Camry.
If you want a family car in anyway, simply get the Camry, or for me I'd take a Murano, if you want a sports car, get the ZED.
Easy decision.

0-60= 6.1 sec 14.9 1/4@96 mph.
Maxima in auto form since 02 have been pretty quick. Most people will not cross shop a Max or Camry the Max has long been a Sporty Sedan for people that want something sporty with room or need the room but donot want something boring where as Camry is a boring "mobile".

well, one things for sure, if you get the camry, be sure to get it in stick shift otherwise you won't be able to back it out of your driveway. (the automatic gearbox won't reverse, toyota is recalling 50,000 camry's as we speak.)

But then, here's a possibility: it's the person who can't decide between serving his own interests (Z) or his family's (Camry).

Trying to make a rational comparison on performance stats between a Camry and a 350z etc...is what I DON'T understand. Why bother?
If you don't see why a Z is more desirable to you than a Camry, then you shouldn't have any business driving a Z.
