I agree... when I first saw the 2003 Z I was like WTH on the door handles, but over time it's just something that I got used to seeing. On the 07 Z, the hood has the same WTH effect, but after 2 days of processing, I like it even more than the old hood. It really does look dope from the side. I'm sure last years headlights had the same response, but I like those too.

I just don't think the hood flows with the rest of the body. But I bet that hood would probably look sweet on a widebody Z.

I hope one of the new colors is a dark or charcoal gray. Silverstone, silver alloy and carbon silver are still too light for me. I like black but way too hard to keep clean.

Yeah! At first, I thought the hood looked awful, but after that side-view and a few days of looking at, it has grown on me. It's not perfect... but it'll do!

What I don't get is why they left the rims the same. You'd think they would have done just a little something with it. At least we still get our bad *** door handles.

I've gone from projectile vomit everytime I see the hood to just being slightly queasy lol.

You know I don't mind it I bet it will look fine in person. I think we are all so use to the original hood. It still looks clean and I bet at a dead straight side veiw it looks pretty mean.

i went to the OC auto show today... saw that grey 07 Z on the showroom floor.

they had the car locked so i couldnt even get inside. asked the floorguy if he can open, but he says he doesnt even have the keys to open. he says it was "preproduction model".... whatever that means.

anyways, the previous group of pictures shows clearly the revised bonnet. other than that, everything looked pretty much the same. the center console with navigation lcd screen looked a bit different... the tach had the redline at 7500... had few more unfamiliar(?) buttons on the steering wheel. that's just about all the difference i can make out from the outside.

frankly, i dont think the 07 Zs will be that much faster than the previous year Zs... maybe by 0.1-0.2 sec in the 1/4 mile. it wouldnt make sense for nissan to significantly bump up the performance just couple years prior to releasing the all new Z in 08,09, or whenever.

Dude, I think that there definately will be increase in performance; Look at the '07 G35 sedan - its performance numbers are significantly better. Now, the 07 Z has the same engine...so based on that I think that IT WILL be faster by more than just .1 or .2 off of its old 0-60 timings.

The side profile is SO much better than that 1/4 front angle. I'm sorta mixed from looking at the pix. But I need more pix from different colors etc to assess it better.

While the hp may not seem much more than the '06, don't forget the potential it could have since it's almost a new block. Maybe it's very mod friendly, who knows But if the '08 Zs are getting the 3.7 engine like the Coupe, then this new HR engine is only a intermediate step. But is it even logical for Nissan to switch over to a 3.7 only after an 1 yr introduction of the HR?

NEED MORE PIX!

I wouldn't be that concerned about peak HP, but I would like to know how responsive the motor is throughout the power band. They don't call it "high response" for nothing.

Our GM just printed out the 2007 Nissan Z Vehicle Ordering Guide. Nothing really new.

- Track model deleted
- New VQ35HR DOHC 3.5 V6 engine
- 306hp @ 7,500 rpm
- 268 lb-ft of torque
- New twin intake system
- New hood design
- Solar Orange replaces Interlagos Fire
- San Marino Blue replaces Le Mans Sunset
- Carbon Silver replaces Silverstone

What Im wondering is if its going to have the 3.69 final drive like the 07 G35 sedan has.

Which is kind of weird because from the color samples that I saw the new Solar Orange kind of looks like Le Mans Sunset.

The info that I have says, "Finally, a new hood to accommodate the new engine...".
