What I hear is a click/clunk when I move the lever into 2nd; can also hear it in 3rd but the sound diminishes due to road noise. Also, if the revs aren't matched when I let out the clutch when I have shifted into 2nd, the trans will make another clunk sound.
Is it the same sound your hear switching the gears even if your car is turned off? If so, I think it's normal. You can hear it on most cars, going from neutral to first, or first to 2nd.

Ok, from what I've gathered on the forums so far, is that it seems that your're experiencing this "rear axle click". Search the forum for 'rear axle click' and see if that helps you out more. Read up on TSBs (Technical Service Bulletin). Here's one: http://www.nissantechinfo.com/nissan...RefNo=NTB04065
If it describes your symptom, take it in to a dealer, and they should fix it in a few hrs..

It's perfectly normal .... if you read any reviews on the car they mention (I really don't mind it) that the shifting is a bit noisy. Mine makes a clicking sound as well ...

what it is is lack of grease on axles i believe or somewhere internally in rearend my friend works at nissan as a tech and he owns a toyota and i own a nissan so when i need something warranty or question he hooks me up like wise he drives a toyota how many miles? if under 36000 take it to the dealership and tell them as a matter of fact there is a TSB for that just take it to your local dealer and they will take care of it
itz called rear axle clicking.. my dealership in cali knew exactly what i was describing and fixed it in one morning along with the regular oil change - see other thread describing this issue.
